Thanks for the tribute to my dad... You did a really nice job! I had never seen the quote from Betty White before about " not the happiest man in the world" -- I don't know what she is talking about. He was a very happy man, especially in his twightlight years. He wasn't that close to Betty. He knew her for years from Password and Match Game but they weren't very close friends.

I fell in love with Richard Dawson the first time I saw him on Match Game. He was so funny and so good-looking. I am very glad that his son Gary responded to this video, and thank you for posting it. R.I.P, Richard. You are missed.

I'm in my 40s and grew up watching Richard. They rarely make men like him anymore as he was the epitome of class, cool, charm, charisma, and wit. He brought a lot of personality to television and even his performance in "The Running Man" was great. Fantastic tribute video.

Richard, was really a nice looking man. I think he was smart and really funny. The more you see of him on past shows the more you like him.He came across as a nice person and not only that he was just a classy man.

I have loved Richard starting with Hogan's Heroes thru Family Fued. He was the best host on that show. Period. Steve Harvery has turned into a filth fest. Richard was so dreamy with his beautiful blue eyes and wonderful smile. I wish I could have gotten to know him. His daughter Shannon is just gorgeous. Maybe I can find Gary online for a picture. I'm sure he resembles his wonderful father. Thank you for the video. I guess I didn't hear what Betty White said. Richard always seemed to be happy. God Bless YOU Richard Dawson. 💙

Possibly Betty White's comment had to do with the blow ups Richard had on Match Game! Richard looked happy, but he had his set of values. And when he thought a player was being cheated, he would fight to defend them! RIP Richard.

No one else deserves the role of host of Family Feud except for Richard Dawson he is the only one that bought the show to life and shall always be remembered for the energy he gave on there

Wonderful to see all the early photos and film footage. I really enjoyed the tribute; my only criticism are that the pics in the beginning pass by two quickly so I had to stop and start a lot just to see them and that it ended on a negative comment from Betty White. Betty White is a neat lady, but she goes through life with Perky on the high button and has made similar comments about other people who were not as animated as she is. Richard Dawson was a delight and came across as being a warm, genuine, caring and happy man to those of us who held him in such high regard.

Gary (I'm a Gary, myself) and I have loved your father's work. What was it like working with your real-life father on "Family Feud," and were you a fan of both either "Match Game" (with Gene Rayburn), before the spin-off of "Family Feud"?! I loved the show & your father, a lot! He was very funny!

He did have a very good life. His first wife was an absolute knockout blonde bombshell ( & famous as well) ▶ and he made a lot of money as an actor & game show host & panelist.
