I believe around the time Buzzard came out he was diagnosed with the stomach problem, which had caused him to abandon a sold-out tour for Slingshot in 2014. Lost a couple pounds, and hid away in absence. In that time he wrote Lemon Cotton Candy Sunset, an album about absence I’d say.
