Richard Fortus of Guns N' Roses Talks Supro Black Magick and Supreme Amps | Reverb Interview 

Gotta say, I'm really digging this guy. I'm a huge Izzy fan, especially all of his solo albums. When I saw GNR in Detroit, I was of course disappointed it wasn't Izzy, but I knew that going in. I sorta had a distaste for Richard, right off, for no reason... like hating a guy that dates your ex without knowing him. I just thought of him as an Izzy wannabe, in terms of gear, look, and playing style, again, for no good reason. But, in researching these amps, I've seen a number of vids with him, and he's a cool cat in his own right. I'd have a drink with him. I wish I had this level of respect and knowledge of him when I saw GNR a couple months ago. Maybe next time.

Way back when Richard joined GN'R in the early noughties, I thought, "Damn, it's a shame we'll never get to hear him play with Slash because of Axl's estrangement - their styles would complement each other perfectly." A decade later, it's nice to know I was right! The way their guitar lines snake in and out of each other on Knockin' on Heaven's Door is a particular highlight.

I recently purchased a Supro Tremo-Verb 1X10 amplifier. Coming from a Fender 68' princeton and a 65' Deluxe Reverb, this amp has a sound all its own. I am SO happy with this amp! Don't be afraid to try something new (old ;)! These Supro amps are rockin; as a customer, I love what this company is doing.

His and Slash's Wish You Were Here jam was one of my favorite parts of the Atlanta concert.

I just purchased an original vintage Supro Supreme 12w amp therefore I ended up here.I love the tone for anything blues,rock or Jazz. These are sweet sounding amps and are a favorite of Keith Richards as well. Normally I would use a Marshall,Fender,Gibson or Mesa amp but I am so glad I found this Supro. Locking myself away for some Supro Supreme bliss.

Man, really stupid question but what is sitting under the Supro Black Magick's? Is that a cab? Nothing else in the new Supro line has the black tolex with the white strip does it?

"We have a similar taste in guitars." Proceeds to play an aluminum bodied thinline telecaster custom.A guitar I've literally never seen slash play.

I saw G & R years ago when DJ Ashba and Bumblefoot were also in the band. I noticed multiple times during the show that Richard was doing these big windmill strums but wasnt actually hitting his strings at all. He wasnt even playing. And from my seat, I had a clear view and he was inches away from strumming, so that was pretty disappointing.
