Richard gere deserve the all Tibetan deepest respect. Despite being very great and famous hollywood actor he had been consistently standing with Tibet and its people ever since when Tibet lost its country to Communist China. Even being a neighbour of China my country is in a constant conflict from China since 1950 when dalai lama came to our country and we refuse to hand him over to china. And we fought a war with china too, for the same reason...

People always act like there was no reason to invade tibet, go google their human rights violations before (feudalism is hell) Tibet wasn't a miraculously and wonderfully free place, not now and not under the Dalai Lama. (but for many it has improved after the Dictatorship under a holy leader)

Another China apologist's excuses. Chinese lived far worst abusive in China than Tibet ever was. In reality Tibet is for intent and purpose a big concentration camp where they have live under constant fear of arrest by Chinese. They have to watch what to talk, who to pray or be always mindful of not keeping photo of the Dalai Lama or Tibetan flag which is crime in Tibet. Japan wanted to free Chinese from feudalism and oppression but Chinese fought and said they does not want freedom. So why Chinese insist occupying Tibet in the facade of liberation?

No we didn't invaded Tibet in 1950, we invaded them and they invaded us, the conflicts starting since thousands years ago, and we governed Tibet and made it a part of China 700 years ago. You Americans never understand the tradition of histroy of other country. Keep preaching, like Tibet will be free, hahaha...by the way, find sometime to read the history of the dark age of Tibet before the CCP came to Tibet, some Americans, just stick to the facts and reality and don't just demonize a regine as you like, you have made many many wars on the world, which is not godly at all.

Tibet is an independent country until 1950 as China invaded Tibet after that year. That’s as simple as it is. You don’t need to stretch all this so called history. The the current situations in Tibet is that the Chinese authorities doesn’t even allow any Tibetan in Tibet to have religious right and even to keep his holiness frames in their houses if so they will brutally abused them in their authorities and we Tibetans doesn’t hate the people of Chinese, we just hate the non-democratic government of Chinese only.
