@Ariseon No the cinematography is inspired as well: when he’s floating in the air and punching the water, climbing up the wall, and most directly inspired is after he climbs up the building and jumps off into the air at the 0:21 frame. You could compare that frame directly to “Into The Spider-verse” towards the end of the movie when Miles takes a leap off a building (key cinematic where Vince Staple’s song is featured). The main similarity I see is the way he moves, the choreography, has an attitude/swagger that feels a little too much like Miles’s character. I understand the commercial is themed to the song, but for me the phrase “imitation is flattery” only goes so far. It feels like the model is copying Miles instead of channeling Miles as inspiration (hope that makes sense). The model does not feel like the main character, his own distinct character, of the commercial’s story. Originality/Creativity is the x-factor in making any piece of media (or in this case the product) enticing to viewers/consumers, and this commercial is devoid of that.
