He’s the King for a reason.

The fact that he’s alive and in relatively good shape for his age is a miracle

The fact that he lives was a miracle. Him continuing to race was even more incredible.

That's the truth, met him a few times myself. He always made time for his fans if there was two or twenty.

Yeah I met him in the tunnels at Bristol and he talked to me and my dad and asked if we were enjoying the race and who our favorite drivers are and cool stuff like that to ask a 7 year old

He is as tough as they come. Especially with the lack of safety features they had in the earlier years.

The greatest ever. No disputing that. But even more so, he is one of the finest southern gentlemen you could ever hope to meet. Same thing goes for The Silver Fox. These were men when manhood truly meant something.

People like Richard and Cale and that generation of drivers were racers racer and tough as nails. When I think of the best drivers ever I think of people like Pearson, Petty, Yarborough the Allison’s, Buddy Baker, Benny Parsons, Darrell Waltrip, Dave Marcus, Neil Bonnet, A.J. Foyt, Dick Brooks etc.

Petty saying it was a obligation he had to race for family etc he knows if he could miss that race and nothing would change he still would have jumped in that car just because he loved racing 😂
