I always stood for Richard Jr.'s rights to privacy and his truth. I believed it from the start. As a victim myself I couldn't imagine the horror he went through being public outted about sexual abuse, just to have the ignorant ass public debate about it!
Unbelievable.. Whether it's true or not.. Who wants to sit and talk about how they've been abused.. Especially to a some what reporter.. That's alot of personal inner pain and emotions to deal with.

I understand why he was mad at the bodyguard but I honestly don't think he meant any harm by telling the story. But what he told he should have asked Richard Jr. If it was ok because now that Interview is out there for people to watch over and over again.

Rashad was on that BULLSHIT trying to secure a bag. And RJ is totally correct, whatever happened to him is his story. Just because you know what an associate has went through doesn't mean it's your business or duty to tell that person's story.
He's 100% telling the truth here. I suspect, if you look at the timeline, he was 16 or 17, at least, I hope that's the case. Even younger would be tragic. The bodyguard claims that Richard's fire accident stopped the hit he was going to take out on Mooney. That was in 1980 when Richard Jr. was 19. I can see it going down in 1978, and Richard Sr. finding out about it sometime after.
Dann, that wasn't kosher at all regarding Mr Mooney. And the timing of his supposed 'unwell' status as touted by his twin sons in defence of their father's actions in response to the current unveiling of said allegation, is most unfortunate. On an educational note, especially for Black men, give your Google a gander and cop from your local library the current day autobiographies of NFL players to military cadets who were sexually assaulted by comrades and mentors. Richard Pryor is and will always be the greatest greatest comedian and writer of all times I remembered as a little girl watching his last show I even remember when Richard told them to kiss his ass. As far as you being a victim like that's so personal and the body guard invade is space . It's like living that experience all over again .My heart and prayer goes out to you Richard Jr. That body guard was out of order on show many levels . My true heart and prayers go out to you . I'm glad you are keeping it real you don't have to put there names out there . Being abused in such a way is not easy to talk about . Only people that I know know .

Sometimes when people don't talk about their abusers is because, hurt people begin to hurt other people. So telling on your abuser can have someone come out and tell on you.

I truly sympathize for Richard Jr. This really something that bothers him deeply and we should respect his privacy and when or if he is ready to tell his story- he will but it is all up to him.
This was a tough interview to watch. He said so much without opening his mouth. And he is in fear as he should be. The connections from the living is crazy big connected. Imagine what Mr Mooney could tell on others so he is protected.
