On position 3 I was thinking h6+ and if king takes then fxg5+ would have a discovered attack on the queen. But obviously it’s not as forcing as the line played. Good stuff. Been watching all of these.

@YannSelka

In move 1, playing Nc6+ is actually saving the situation - if black takes with Rxc6, it enables a series of checks at the end of which you can trade your queen and rook for both rooks and the bishop (Rg8+, Kb7, Rxd7+, Kb6, Qxh1, Qc3, Qxc6+, Qxc6, Rd6, Bxd6 and exd6). Black is still winning, but not checkmate. Of course this isn't the only way, but it's what stockfish recommends to both sides. And if black instead takes with dxc6, you play Rg1 which turns this into a trade of Queens instead of checkmate (with a sacrifice of the knight of course). In comparison to the situation before, if black would instead try to play Rxg1, followed by your Qxg1 and his Qc3 (the unstoppable checkmate from the video) You can actually not just stop it but turn the game around with Qb6+, and after some forced moves you take black's bishop. In short, it's still not the most favorable situation, but it's not a forced checkmate like the video suggests :)
