Just back from painting plein air in a competition in Wexford, Ireland, that's where I'm from, painted a waterfall I couldn't stop thinking about Richard, what way he would have painted it, I got a nice painting, rest in peace, your will always be remembered by me, simply because you inspired me to paint in a particular way.

Thank you for this video. I finished reading my copy of Alla Prima II in April -- one year after. I've never taken so many notes, made personal notations on what his instruction spoke to me. Much like looking at his landscapes -- they speak for themselves. So unique. My goal is to paint until I cannot continue, and laugh and love all the way to the end. Thank you Richard, Nancy, Michelle......

His art evokes a sense of a life lived to the absolute fullest with heart at the epicenter of all these images; the subjects all vibrate with such life that one could not of produced something of his caliber without living in each moment. Thank you guys, I am painting my little heart out, totally inspired by Richard, I was also very shocked we had lost such a man, artist and master. I'm just thinking about Nancy and family I hope they are doing ok it must be a massive loss.

Dear Michelle, thank you for posting this precious record of Richard Schmid. It was lovely to watch him play the piano Chopin op 10 no 3. I know music was so important to him so can I request for the benefit of all you would take time and write down a play list in the notes of the titles and composers of your selection of pieces of music for this video. Alla Prima II may have been the most expensive book I've bought, but as a wise friend told me: The epiphany from a single sentence can change a person's life. What price can one put on that? The year it took me to work through Alla Prima held many such treasures.

Was so sad to hear Richard had died. Hope he's having a ball in " that great studio in the sky". His book is phenomenal, if one is serious about painting and can afford to buy it but choose not to do so, then there not so serious after all. Get it people, even if you have to eat bean's for a year.

Hi, it is a mix of Chopin etude no 10 , Bach brandenburg concerto No 5 , and Vivaldi . I purchased these through a licensing co for use on youtube so they don't provide the exact titles , but thats what they listed : ) He loved this kind of music !
