I must ask if he has ever driven a Stalwart. That was the most fun vehicle I have ever driven. Fully agree with him on the merits ofm modern tanks. They are all very dangerous, the crew makes them more or less so.

He has done some cannons. In fact he also did the bofors 40mm recently. Maybe he could discuss the forgotten tank weaponry and not the tanks themselves. I beleive he also, recently, did a video about a semi-auto 20mm that was used in Swiss tanks and forts.
@HowLongDoesItTake4Dads2BuyMilk
@@bensutcliffe1975 I am aware of those videos, he addressed this in some of the Q&A chats that he did videos on those cannons, but had not much to say about them. I don't mean this to shittalk Ian or anything, I just want to make it clear that there are both technical and legislative differences between firearms/artillery and gunsmith/armorer, and it is better to have someone who has some experience with the vehicles he is supposed to talk about. I'll shut up now... Guys, have a good one.

I know what you mean. The Chieftain (person, not the tank) seems unimpressed about anything he talks about. Even though he has wealth of information and can tell a decent story (I very much liked his history about the "Graf Spee"), he just doesn't show much emotion and as I said seems unimpressed about anything. Including his own military career and the tanks he served in. He would be a killer Poker player though.

A great review and selection. It has always been my perspective that the modern MBT today are so closely related to each other that the crews are the real keys to victory. At this point though, conflict with MBT becomes little more than a tragedy as every loss means the loss of great soldiers. I support maintaining these beasts, I pray they never face-off.

I can imagine Mr. Cutland must have had the time of his life as a hussar, driving all the best western MBTs and the Scout car Ferret. But boy, would I - as former rifleman with the armored infantry - also like to see a special sometime in the future on mechanized infantry/armored fighting vehicles, armored recce vehicles (Scimitar, Scorpion, German 8 x 8 Luchs, Warrior, YPR-765, Bradley, Marder and the likes). They may not be as sexy as their big brorhers, but as we now know, tanks without infantry support are very vulnerable to anti-tank fire. They stick together like horse and carriage (no question who is what, LOL). Also I believe the Leopard family is getting a bit of a raw deal on this channel. Having served alongside both Leopards with the RNL Army and having witnessed Challenger 1's at the Sennelager training area, I must say the Leopard never failed to impress through its magnificent mobility, speed and agility. Once a few mates and I were in a dug in position and some of them stormed our position, obviously not knowing we were actually there. The closed a distance of around 1.000 meters in less than 20 seconds (I know, I was an M-47 Dragon ATGW gunner and had measured my firing zone pretty accurate) and looking at those beasts racing towards us, while the ground trembled under our feet, As they were about to run us over, a clever guy got out of his foxhole and started waving a piece of red and white plastic tape. The approaching squadron stopped just short of four or five meters away from us, and I think every single one of us had broken a sweat. And that, while it was minus 10 degrees Celcius. Not saying the Leopard is better rthan anything else, but it is one hell of an impressing MBT. And its engine sound, well... that must be the best predator roar out there. No question about that. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-121d0jowjQo.html

Looking at that Challenger I - A Lt/Col. commanding a Cpl, L/Cpl and a Trooper? Man that is one hell of a rank gap.

Is that actually correct? My uncle and one of my previous colleagues where (conscript) TCs in the 80s / 90s on Leo 1, I think at a rank sergeant. The only regulars on those where the driver.

It was the Regiment commander’s tank.

@@TheChieftainsHatch Thanks Nick, that makes way more sense. I was aware that Ritmeesters (Captain/ Major) has his own tank commanding tank squadron, but I'm surprised a regiment commander would even command a tank himself too.
