You and me both, sister. This is a great series--and a wonderful evocation of RT's personality, which doesn't always show through in "professional" video recordings.
Judith Owen - a Welsh witch if ever there was one - is an artist in her own right,. And Debra Dobkin plays percussion w/ RT in his band, is also a singer and a visual artist.
I've got a feeling that Richard has a stinking cold on this vid. Amazing how he sings so well. That's why he's wearing a scarf round his neck. He has a great voice and ALWAYS means what he sings.
This is really good, as you'd expect of something linked with Richard Thompson. Actually I think I have a crush on the woman next to RT. There's something about a pretty blond with a beautiful voice which makes my heart melt.
Thompson isn't the wild poetic genius that Dylan is, but he's a thousand times the musician. His work with Judith and Debra is as good in its own way as his solo and full band stuff, with the best three-part harmony he's done since his classic mid-'80s "Across A Crowded Room" tour with Clive and Christine.
@MrBobodrum: it's a mediaeval hymn called Remember O Thou Man @Ze18613: not sure she'd thank you for the description, but the blond woman is RT's next-door neighbour Judith Owen. (She's married to Harry Shearer, trivia fans.)
