Heath's solo in this episode is my favorite part of this season. The lighting and tone is so perfect, and Heath's dancing is so incredible and chilling in that solo. And the shot of the team in the corner coming into focus and Heath pulling off his hood...I love it so much.

I’m pretty sure Michelle had this whole thing in season 3 where her parents divorced and she was the alternate. I don’t think they just made her lazy lol 😅

The storyline they wrote for Michelle in s3 was that her parents were getting divorced and that pissed me OFF, bc all Michelle did was sit around and cry, and at first, I didn't know that Vic had broken her ankle, so I thought it was all so pointless lol

I think Heath being the mole was smart ngl, He always felt disrespected by A-Troupe and they never listened to his ideas and didn’t include him, he deserved that storyline !

To answer your question: YES Richelle was burned by a previous relationship, cough cough Elliot in season 6, (or was it 5? idk) so it's quite out of context if you haven't watched s5/6, but basically Elliot just was a shitty person in general, so trust issues is kinda the main attraction of the whole show if you will

Ah! I’ve been looking forward to your reaction to this episode and I’m even more excited for you to see the next two!😁 Heath confessing to everyone is one of my favourite scenes because it really dives into his reasoning and motives for being the mole. I love how they included flashbacks of Season 7, Dancemania and also Heath secretly listening to Kingston, Piper and Amy’s private convos which explains how he gave that info to Tearabling. Richelle and Shad parting ways is also heartbreaking because of it being a combination of a misunderstanding on him being mistaken for the mole but also an actual betrayal on Shad’s end with him aligning with Maria. It’s so sad that it turned out that way between them but it also makes for good drama. Regarding Richelle, yes, you are absolutely right that she was burned badly by a past relationship in Season 6 with Elliot. They were very similar in personality with both of them being driven, stubborn and hard faced. They found common ground since Season 5 and then dated in Season 6 but then Elliot suddenly broke up with her later on in the season when she didn’t expect it. He basically chose his career over Richelle (even though he liked her) and this was a hard thing for Richelle to process especially because it happened before Regionals. But also in general, Richelle often finds it hard to take on criticism towards herself which leads to her being distant. She also has trust issues and often found it difficult to fully reveal or open up her emotions. One of the main plot points for Season 6 was the focus on Richelle being able to learn to become more emotive in her dancing (which Chloe also addressed towards Richelle) and the breakup she experienced with Elliot led to her finally breaking down her barriers and letting her emotions out in dance. Even now, she’s still learning a lot about herself and trying to adapt which makes her so fascinating as a character. The Talking Head scene where she says if she talks, she’s gonna cry is a good example of that. There’s a lot of layers there which makes me appreciate her more as they’re really tapping into her character with this season and her being the leader of the Step Inside team. I’m glad she had that talk and realisation with Kenzie which allowed them to patch things up despite the worrying circumstances with the step inside show. Also fun fact, the talking head scene at the end is a repeated one when Richelle says “Now, what do we do?”. I think it was previously used after they danced for Moxie. I also agree with you about having more male and female friendships on the show. I’d definitely love to see more platonic friendships between opposite genders because they can be just as meaningful as romantic ones although I have to admit, I do love Pete and Kenzie together.😁

this was a good episode especially the return of Maria! connie manfredi (actress who plays Maria) is super funny you can tell that through her acting and portrayal of Maria especially “girl pwr” in the off season 😂 the plot with Michelle you’re referring to, I don’t think they just made her lazy lol in season 3, they did a whole storyline where her parents were getting divorced so she was conflicted in regards to where and who she was staying with, which then they wrote is as if she was “uncommitted” to the team which is why ms Kate took her dance captaincy off her and then Giselle became dance captain. but they 100% played it well because the storyline sounded so much like a real thing that people would go through in terms of parents getting divorced and having to deal with that, whilst being a part of a team practicing for internationals. excited for the next 2 episodes (the mid season finale, ep 13, is an entire roller coaster so wrap in tight brit 😭) 🫶🏼

Heath was actually weirdly sensitive and soft. That makes him the last person you'd suspect, yet for the reasons they made, it works for him. Loneliness (not isolation) is real even if you are around other people.

I’m rewatching season 4 at the moment and even though I really hate the storyline between Riley and Alfie and honestly just Riley in general that season lol, I just wanna say your acting in that season is literally phenomenal, I’m really proud of what you achieved from being someone who had never acted before ❤❤

I think why richelle has trust issues is because that she had a friend Lola but then Lola betrayed her by breaking her I think they're called pointe shoes because Lola did not want richelle to get hurt more because she had an injury but no one knew and they are not friends anymore.

Richelle used to date Elliot a few seasons back and that’s why she probably acted slightly rash towards Chad. I think she mentioned in one of her talking heads that Elliot was the person she opened up to the most and I don’t think it ended too well for her! :(

Richelle did have a relationship with a guy in season 5/6 ( i dont fully remember when it started ) named elliot who was just a horrible person in general and the way they broke up was hearkbrealing for richelle since she wanted to stay in the relationship. I think that did develop her trust issues eventhough shes had them throughout the whole show. Although, they may have started when she had a crush on noah in season 3 but he liked abi so she never got to tell him and she kind of envied abi because of that but hid her feelings nevertheless. I think since then shes never wanted to have a crush or open up to anyone about her feelings. I think that was the first time we got to see her trust issues on the show. And thats why she really needs to trust someone before telling them her real feelings. Also, heard you say 'twos-day' and because im british it sounded wierd as we always say 'chews-day' over here.

question - do you feel like young dancers are pushed out of education too much? Listening to interviews and hearing stories from tns cast and other dancers it seems crazy to me how much school they often miss out on and I can’t help but feel like dancers are pressured into homeschooling by their studios far too young. It seems so risky to me as if you get a bad injury or something you don’t have much of a back up - and also on top of this, if you do make it, dance is a very unreliable career and work is often limited (Also this is from the perspective of a non-dancer) Loving the reactions 🫶🏻

Ahh my beloved Richelle, yes your right 7:04 in general Richelle has troubles with showing emotions and trust however in season 6 she started dating a guy named Elliot ( he’s the worst) although in the BEGINNING and am specifically writing it like that because it is true even if some fans don’t wanna see it that way but anyways in the beginning Elliot treated Richelle well and she was very happy with him and their relationship alias WHY she started for the first time ever REALLY open up to him COMPLETELY and giving him all her trust once A troupe was doing the last rehearsals for regionals he had an audition for some theater or something and he got it once he got the news he obviously went to talk to her and basically called it off with her saying that now he’s gonna be super busy and it wouldn’t work out if they go long distance, she even tried and suggested they can video chat, text and call but he said no and said that in the beginning they agreed that dance comes first so that basically crushed her because she was obviously willing to try and wanted to stay together with him and putting HIM first rather then dance because she was starting to care more for him then dance but once she saw that he wasn’t gonna do the same for her she agreed on breaking up. This is now where Ozzy comes in and why the fans (including me) started to ship Richozzy. At Reginald after dancing her duet with Noah she was crying in the hall thinking about Elliot, Ozzy went looking for her and saw her crying and being sad, while still having a crush on her he knew she needed a friend and he was gonna be there for her. He motivated her and brought her back to the group while she for the first time saw that ozzy really cared for her and wasn’t just having a silly crush on her. That’s when they really started to become friends and because of that moment in s6 is why in season 7 before she joins a troupe Summer says everyone needs to be on board of having Richelle back and she responding “everyone?” And they all then turn to look at Ozzy who then steps forward and kinda like gives his blessing for her to come back. They knew that he was the most affected by her leaving so obviously for them it was important that he is the one with the final say in this which is why Richelle was a little staying back since his opinion was important to her. Since s6 Ozzy has become richelle’s trustworthy person which is why just like you pointed it out he steps in ( every time she needs it) saying that everything they need for step inside is them etc and is gonna help her out and be there for her like he’s always been as you probably saw it now in ep 12 too. Ozzy is the only person Richelle like almost blindly trust and can count on. This is also one of the reason why Richozzy is shipped and loved. Chad had big potential but for me ( I was starting to like them and be I guess fine with them if we don’t get Richozzy.) it was over once we found out the calls were from Maria it’s just shitty because he knows what Maria did to Tns AND to Richelle who he was supposedly starting feelings for I thought that was just a dick move going behind their backs so that’s why in this house we just stan Ozzy it is what it is hahahah also am sorry for my long ass paragraph but I couldn’t explain everything in short form lol 😂❤

I really liked Shad and his relationship with Richelle too, so much that it took me a moment to even get what his betrayal actually was, like how big that whole thing was, but now I literally can not see him or everything he said the same way. Like, people accused him of betraying the team and he was all like "WHAT, how dare you guys think that? Me? Being an ally to someone to destroyed you and keeps harming you, who put you in this terrible situation and is ruining your carreers?! Never, you have to trust me just bc, bc Richelle we had something special, meant to be, just trust by just trusting me and that's it, you not doing it and calling me traitor is super messed up" WHEN HE LITERALLY DID JUST THAT, yeah he wasn't the mole, but he did not do something that different and he did technically every single other thing they said and that he's asking them to stop saying, and not even as excuses to hide his actual betrayal bc even after Richelle knows he says the same, like he truly believe he's right in all that and he's even like "boo-hoo, Maria was right about what a bad person you are Richelle" LIKE HOW, WITH WHAT FACE DUDE... We're better without him (so it's sad that he actually had such an amazing voice). And yeah, he was betraying them since before bc you said "maybe he wasn't sure if he was going to do it but this made him" but by what he said before we do know he was already going with her, and even if that's his carreer I don't think is right or something to respect since he knows he's getting that carreer thanks to someone who has no problem in lying to ruin innocent people's carreers (ppl that are also teen btw, like they're super vulnerable and with her age and power what she did is even worst)

Yesterday I was binging your old Jo & Britt videos and I was watching your one on advice confidence one, you said that cocky confidence and happy with yourself confidence are very different. I have a big problem telling the difference and I feel like being a perfectionist as well as this so I can rarely appreciate myself and when I do I feel like I’m being cocky even though I’m not. Ik this is bad but it’s a habit and I can’t stop myself from doing it without feeling like a b*tch

That’s really interesting to hear that Victoria broke her ankle just before season 3, I tell you what, the crew did a great job of covering that up, would never have known or guessed (and I watched season 3 just recently) Gets me thinking though, and you may or may not know if this was the case; was Michelle always going to be an alternate for internationals because of the divorce story line or did that get written in as a result of the broken ankle? And now I know why she wasnt there for the head to head battle against Elite - she couldn’t dance so the writers made it that she had to go away to Maddison - now THATS clever! Writers are amazing 😍😂 The writers actually did a good job with season 8 too, I really enjoyed it, but 1-3 will always be my most favourite, and when I tell my dance students to watch The Next Step, I tell them to go right back to season 1 and start at the beginning 😁

Yeah 15 minutes is quick I hurt my leg earlier this year, I was in hospital for like 6 hours before I even got a cast, and it was the middle of the night, the night of Good Friday as well (it was a bad, bad Friday). Oh and I had been on the floor in so much pain I’m surprised I didn’t pass out for over 3 hours before the paramedics came before I even went to hospital, that was a looooonnnnnggggg night! 😢😫🏥

Michelle’s parents got divorced season three and she was so upset that she could barely function anymore. Also she did walk and I am probably now going to binge season three to see any strange patterns. Also, I know what it’s like when your ankle rolls underneath you, it hurts so bad. I did that on a school trip (luckily it didn’t snap) but then I had to walk all the way home on the other side of town but I could only limp. I didn’t go to hospital but I probably should’ve.
