I was in SE1 London, prob about 2005/6. The atmosphere was dark and dungy, some strobe light, plus red beacon scanning the venue. I remember Magda playing some good stuff before Ritchie just totally owed the place with his set. “Higher, Stronger, Faster” that’s all I could remember from that night and I have to say, that started my journey with minimal and soo much more after. Thank you plasticman for that journey down the memory lane with this set!
I was at that same event. Everybody seems to have a different time when they say Richie was at his best, but for me it was 2004-2006. it was being called 'minimal' even then but I just saw it as the years where house and techno kind of grew up, they merged for a while and something new came out of it, and Richie was one of those at the front. It was a great time to see him. (I can hear from older sets, it all started before then but it wasn't quite prime at least to my ears)
This is amazing, he was my favorite dj end 90s till 2006, now he is just rubbish honestly his music stinks now and makes me sleepy, this set is masterpiece. Wish there is a timemachine to get me 15yrs back at least
@@weximan1 bro, I’m still having a hope that this will get back, there is something going on in Berlin these days and lot of new djs and producers are taking inspiration from this old school sound!
