It's over! Thanks for coming. EDIT: I'm playing in Izzy's Sonic-theme Gartic phone today with SnapCube, Alpharad, illymation, and more starting at noon PST. Come through! www.twitch.tv/turbojehtt
The contrast between Dracula & Richters voice actors in the original SotN dub is still so funny. Dracula putting so much emotional into his delivery to the point it’s over the top with Richter being the complete opposite. It’s just so… perfect lol
@@antoinerodier Overacting should always win in my opinion. At least they care. I wouldn't say Dracula is overacting though, he is more on the side of actually trying to give a good perfomance.
I don't blame the guy for setting up a cool ass castle and laying it out with monsters and obstacles just to see some shit go down. I mean yeah my dude steals souls but when you're bored you're bored.
Strong "you must be the Belmont" vibes. Like beating up hot-blooded Belmonts is one of the few things that makes him get up out of his coffin nowadays.
As a seeker of knowledge, I elect not to uncover what miserable little pile of secrets were discarded at Juilliard. Some doors are best remained closed.
@@SmileytheSmile "Long ago in a distant land, I, Vlad Dracula Tepes, the progenitor of all vampires unleashed an unspeakable evil but a foolish vampire killer wielding such horrible and faded voice direction stepped forth to oppose me!"
Having flashbacks to when my players trapped Strahd with Wall of Stone and Wall of Light, killing him effortlessly. Note: that was 100% my bad as I didn't turn the page to look at Strahd's lair actions, which would've let him go through the Wall of Stone.
Have a friend who does exactly this. No explanation, no wind up. Just says, "I attack". I feel like I do all the talking in the campaign, and I'm an INTROVERT for *fucking* sakes.
@@rancyheyglades1751"Dracula's cool af castle as opposed to Dracula's lame ass Belmont shelter of corridoors too small for operating a moringstar whip" I mean he clarified that the problem was in the coolness factor and that's about it
The thing is that, Symphony of the Night on PS1 is one of those weird cases where a game got dubbed into English in Japan. So you have these probably American actors and a Japanese voice director who probably doesn't speak English well. Bad voice direction is unavoidable in a situation like that. It's a bit unfair to blame bad it all the voice actors. Direction can make a huge difference.
"What is this place?" "Wow! What a Mansion!" "Oh, and Jill. Here's a Lockpick. It may be good if you, The Master of Unlocking, carries it." "Oh, Barry!" "That was too close! You were almost a Jill Sandwich!" "You're right!" Ah.....campy. Just like I like it.
Bro @@ramenbomberdeluxe4958… _Richter is the only fucking Belmont to wear blue and Netflix Trevor is the only one to have a sigil on his costume and A BEARD,_ how the fuck did you mistake-
@@felipecosta-kv2fx "Look at this place! You think I set this up because I thought it was the best way to protect myself from a maniac with a morning star? No. I made it because it's fucking awesome!"
And then its revealed that this particular sacred art was set up by Trevor, as the traditional dramatics set up by Leon ended when the church burned his childhood home down
The poor Belmont was just trying to spread his wings doing voice acting, following his mostly silent protagonist ancestors. Drak was being a bit too harsh here.
After final dialogue with Dracula in Rondo of Blood the parody from SotN seems so damn bad. In Rondo they discussed The Fate, true definition of motives for humanity and even Dracula agrees, that his point of view may be not the best, and in SotN they sound like assclowns.
Secret ending: Bore and offend Dracula so much he ditches himself to Chaos dimension. This discovery wil soon be implemented into Speedruns as the "Ragequit%" category.
Dracula throwing his glass angrily and saying that he went to to JUILLIARD and Richter doesn't know what is Juilliard actually makes sense seriously that's amazing
I love the idea that Dracula has heard far better lines from several belmonts before Richter and is just taken aback with Richter’s terrible voice acting
You know what, I'm on Richter's side here. Poor guy just went through big-ass castle filled with all sorts of enemies and obstacles without ever catching a break. By the time he reaches Dracula, Dracula is fully rested and is in the mood for theatrics, while Richter is exhausted and just wishes for all this madness to finally be over.
To be fair to Dracula, if Richter doesn't want to play ball, he shouldn't even bother delivering those dramatic lines. Just go in and say nothing or something short and non-conversational. But the man says something that clearly shows passion for taking down Dracula, but he can't act it out.
I now imagine Richter going: "My family is a family of professional soldiers, to keep the monsters that threaten humanity with annihilation at bay. Getting into theatrics is not something we have focused on, that remains an indulgence for the aristocracy." since that actually would be a valid point and provide contrast between him and Dracula: that while he talks about making a grand showcase of the circumstances people die of his actions, and Richter will not be part of it.
@@maltheopia "Oh, *NOW* you want to be dramatic, then?? I offered their families a VERY generous compensation for those souls. I'd like to think if anything I've *IMPROVED* those mens' souls' acting skills thanks to my tutelage. It's called investment into the performing arts, Ritcher, LOOK IT UP!"
I've been making fun of this scene since I was a kid, but I don't think I could come up with something half as funny as this. You earned my gutteral laugh today good sir.
"What the hell is Julliard" gives me "Seriously, what the F*^k is Namek!?" vibes from TFS Dr. Gero, and I not only love that but the rage of Dracula being so done because Richter is too lazy to even sound series about this whole affair lol.
I love the idea that the main reason why dracula does his thing at all is solely to put on a show. Like he isn't even going to take over the world he just _says_ he does so someone cool tries to stop him.
The acting might be questionable, but the writing is absolutely BRILLIANT. The contempt and disgust is almost palpable. Dracula is offended that his food is even talking to him. He's so far beyond Richter that he doesn't even care enough to shut the doors to keep him out. It's almost impossible to deliver this kind of dialogue with all the set pieces he's chewing with his mighty jaws. Hollywood, pay attention: THIS is a VILLAIN!!!
Richter was raised to be a vampire killer, not an actor. Dracula, on the other hand, was clearly born for the role (and also out of the grief of loss and rage against humanity for being the cause of said losses) but this skit on the deliveries in Symphony of the Night was epic. More Castlevania memes, please!
I love how Richter stays wooden throughout the entire vide-... wait. Maybe that's just the way he talks normally. Damn. Now I feel bad for the guy. It's not his fault he's from the era of terrible voice acting.
@@arturosandoval8862 Probably because it's only from the English Version and Konami probably doesn't even know it exists. Just like Castlevania at this point.
"You come here after crossing twelve stages of hell, and you come here with delivery so wooden you could drive it through my heart and kill me." That has to be one of the wildest roasts I've heard from a Vampire, not even Netflix could beat it
I love how this implies that this is some post apocalyptic timeline of our earth and Dracula just forgets occasionally that basically everyone but him got sent to the medieval age
I headcanon this as Dracula and Richter being characters in a live action movie, Dracula's actor gets sick of Richter's actor not trying, and he just improvs off of it
This video has almost as many likes as seconds it's been out, as of me arriving early, that's how you know people love your content, everyone anticipates how good it'll be before even finishing.
I think Jehtt should apply to Juilliard, the writing and acting on these videos are incredible. Especially that: "I went to JUILLIARD, Richter! Can't you just let me have this?!"
