Rick and Morty Characters: Good to Evil
Recently Rick and Morty finished it’s fourth season. The newer episodes revealed a lot more of our current cast as well as introduced some new characters and twists. Consider this our deep dive into the morality of one of the craziest cartoons of all time. We want to know: Who’s the most good and who’s the most evil. But first off, let’s get this out of the way: You may not be able to keep up with our logic if you don’t have an IQ of at least 180. So fair warning.

I think the funniest part about Jessica is that the joke is that there are things to see in Jessica. She is nice to people generally, she likes to keep people comfortable, she has goals and ambitions and does things like charity work without having her identity tied to it. But Morty literally is oblivious to all of this. Morty only likes Jessica because she's a crush, not for any of the reasons some could genuinely like Jessica, which I find hilarious.

Here are some good characters you missed: Shrimply Pibbles - The galaxy's most influential civil rights leader who speaks out against genocides and leads aliens from other races in non-violent uprisings. Tony - An alien businessman who used Rick's toilet and then encouraged Rick to accept the vicissitudes of fate instead of trying to control it. Rick actually wanted to be his friend by the end of that episode. Deliverance - A delivery robot who quit his job to join a robot uprising against the lizard people. Even though he could have stayed safe working for the Fly Don of the Frog Mafia, he chose to help his people fight for their freedom. Ultimately this is what led them to victory, because in the process of tracking him down to ask about a delivery Rick beat the lizard people into surrendering. Simple Rick - A version of Rick who never became an inventor and instead stayed with Beth to be a loving father to her, ultimately being kidnapped and strapped to a machine that made him relive his happiest memory so the brain chemicals could be used to flavor cookies.

Also missed: The wasteland barbarians' leader that summer falls in love with from the mad max episode with Arm-athy, the rest of the wasteland crew, Seal Team Ricks, the rival hive mind from the episode with Unity, Principal Vagina, the alien who tries to have Rick assassinated on the whirly-dirly, Brad the football player/jock, Beth's vet assistant, the hunter who shoots the deer beth tries to save, Toxic Morty, Cynical Morty, the version of Beth, Jerry and Summer who get left behind in the cronenberg reality, the evil russian guy and Jaguar from the pickle rick episode, the lighthouse owner from the purge episode, and the evil alien monster incarnation of beth at the alien marriage counseling resort

You classified Rick in a great way except one feature. From his perspective, he's a hero. Think about it, he can jump to new realities and in the introduction of the Evil Morty, he has a memory of child Morty that he cherishes despite being gone during Morty's life at that age. He's in his current reality because the Rick there died there while his daughter believed her dad (Rick) just ran off. And, he's super-pragmatic enough to stick to a narrative.

28:28 Actually, Rick does admit to his weaknesses. At least some of them. He calls Beth out for being an alcoholic and a terrible parent, telling her bluntly that while he is just as bad as she is on both counts, he never tries to hide it. Maybe Rick is simply going by the "better to be known as a sinner than die as a hypocrite" creed.

Bird Person should've been either at the top of the Grey Area, or low on the Good Category. Since he wasn't really himself as Phoenix Person, I don't think it's fair to hold any his actions in that form against him. The fact that he is willing to look past all of Rick's narcissism and toxic behavior to notice how much pain he's in, and to be as good of a friend as he was, that's a pretty good character trait if you ask me.

Nah, Jerry is definitely someone in the grey area. Yeah, he's a selfish asshole when he's allowed to get away with it, but he has shown remorse and goodness when the time has called for it. If anything, Jerry is a hard reflection of the human condition. We're cowards many times, but have also shown bravery if the event calls for it and there's noone to answer the call.

Even if I disagree with many PD's for siding with our evil government, I also consider many have an _horrible job_ they got into because idealism/had nowhere to go. Note: Tommy was not forced back to the real world. He was killed by Beth and then she and Rick cloned him. Potentially Beth just cut off his finger... But it’s implied that she killed him. Which makes talking about him reforming kinda dumb, as he’ll only have the memories that Beth and Rick choose to return to him, if any.

I personally disagree. Sure, he's definitely in the evil category, but others have definitely done worse (many have murdered numerous people).

Like saves Morty from going to a timehole, He gets emotional when birdperson dies, Even his toxic self says to toxic Morty "shhh, grandpa is here". When even the toxic version of yourself has some humanity, That has to rank you a little bit higher. But overall, Rick isn't all bad. He's just mostly bad.

Rick should be in either late grey area or early bad imo. He has some redeeming features such as caring about his family and even saving the world multiple times. However, he has done some atrocities. The two biggest that comes to mind creating and entire universe just to use the inhabitants as slaves to power his vehicle (and destroys a universe within that universe without even thinking about it) and for him to turn everybody in his original world into mutated monsters (though it was by accident and tried to fix up the mess without success). Most of those who Rick tend to kill are mostly evil or someone who is getting in his way. In general if someone leaves him alone he doesn't bother with them.

I dunno about genocide besides Gaia offing all of her offspring or the Pluto king _almost trying and almost succeeding_ to get all of his race to die just for a few more years of his comfort, but the King _did r8p_ a good portion of his realm's children. Rick seems to follow a clean, cold "threaten me or my loved ones and I kill you" _indiscriminate_ approach, even when faced with stronger opponents; the Jellybean seemed to _only_ approach young people to *sexually abuse them.* So a predator _,a coward,_ and definitely _evil._ That's why agree with the list on placing the guy as the most evil. *Fear is the root of all evil,* and that guy _reveled_ on it. As much as Rick is deeply flawed, he's nowhere in the ballpark of King Jellybean.

23:19 & 25:45 If anything, I think in the “bad - evil” section, Zeep and Nebulon should trade places, just like how they did in the more recent “bad - evil” Rick and Morty video. Nebulon is constantly trying to scam Rick just so he can get his recipe for Dark Matter and make his race famous for something they never created; while, although Zeep did copy Ricks methods for electricity, was attempting to make it so his race wouldn’t have to be stomping away on boxes* every minute of the day so that they can do what they want to do. He wasn’t trying to make his race more famous than any of the others, he was just trying to make it so they can be happy in their lives. Edit: although to be fair, it is good exercise which is probably why most of his kind is so fit
