I know it was only just supposed to be a gag but there’s no way Morty would’ve spent any length of time up in the mountains, Rick would’ve saved him as soon as the plane crash made the news. If anything Beth would’ve forced Rick to go get him and he’d be home in like an hour.

I mean, you can easily come up with your own explanations why he wasn't saved, like Rick obviously didn't save him because he wanted to teach him the lesson, and he probably could have stopped his family from saving Morty as well (maybe making a Morty clone or something).

Keeping things episodic is better for people who dont follow the show. Its about appealing to a wider base.

at 5:19 just after this scene they show the plane crashing. the plane has the same numbers as a real life plane that crashed dubbed the "lead slead" due to how heavy it was. it also crashed in the mountains where the survivors had to resort to cannibalism. just a little easter egg i wanted to share

the beth is constantly making her dissatisfaction with her life someone elses problem. She asked rick to choose so that she could hate him no matter what happened, but the writers want us to think it was some act of vulnerability or trust on her part.
