I can't believe that no one asked the most important question : Is Rick C-137 the inventor of the portal gun or was it an other Rick who gave him ( and all the other Ricks ) a portal gun.
If you've watched the first episode of season 3 the subject is touched upon during an invented memory , where Rick C-137 is given a portal gun from a different Rick , but refuses it , which ends up killing his wife. I believe that he used a memory as a basis and changed it. Sometimes in his 20s or early 30s, Rick C-137 was visited by a different Rick and given the portal gun, he accepted it and started to party with his other Ricks. For a while that lasted, until all the partying the Ricks had done started to echo in more and more universes realising who they were , what they were and the knowledge they possessed. The Ricks then created the Citadel of Ricks and their own mock governement. He probably joined too for a while or maybe it was started by a faction of Ricks he was on unfriendly terms with, but for some reason he rebelled against their authority and has been living on the fringe of their society.
I dunno , I've been asking that question ever since episode 1. The thing about being the smartest thing in the multiverse is that it comes after you can travel the multiverse. In a multiverse filled with Ricks who have a portal gun , the question gets to be asked , which Rick(s) invented the portal gun and wich ones received it afterwards and finally , is the " main Rick " one of those who invented it or received it.
Perception Overload My question is if Rick C-137 is the original Rick, because the show is pretty much about Rick C-137. My guess is that *if* he is, then he just might be disguised as Rick C-137, and that he transferred his consciousness to another Rick, like what he did in S3EP1.

Fun Fack; The creator of Rick and Morty is the voice actore of Blindin Blengerman Blandin From Gravity Falls also I only found out about Rick and Morty cuz of Alex Hirsch (the creator of Gravity Falls)

DestinyDK he cant be the one that did all the crimes, infinite universes means infinite ricks did all crimes lol. But anyway that is what happens when you have a story that includes infinities like this, it will never be consistent or fully make sense.
The personal Rick doing the personal crimes in this universe, you obviously know what I mean. Fairly sure the gov. Here doesn't have a universe hopping portal gun, but hey like I said it's a good question save it for if you ever go to a con.
