Well, considering the alternative would be trying to suppress it while the rest continues, this is the best choice he could have done for his mental health. Plus, being famous for 1 song is better than none
Rick Astley transcends genre. He is in a category all his own, which is what makes him one of a kind. You can't separate the man from the music. "Never Gonna..." is just as good as when it was first released and will continue on just the same. This is the signature of a true classic song and a true classic singer.
If the history books don't reference this man as a pioneer of memes, Something will go down. Rick Astley is a cultural icon. I'm happy he's playing into it as much as he is.
@skyrim2972 That would be on Rick himself as I'm fairly certain that's his Bar/Pub that he filmed in. Which, if it is, that means that's a glass he bought for said Bar. He probably just used what was on hand. Very generous of him to, literally, piss away some potential financial profit for our entertainment.
He took some time off after 1993 then returned in 2000. I didn’t realize he did. A great voice of the late 80’s. Dominion of the airwaves. God Bless him.
That song, has one of THE catchiest grooves of ALL TIME and has been my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE from the time it first hit the airwaves, my ears and my heart and will ALWAYS remain my favorite for all time!!! That wonderful song, coming from such a wonderful person, with such a one of a kind voice NEVER FAILS to put a smile on my face and a spring in my step ! ❤
