The fact that this legit looks like it could've been recorded this year is just mind-blowing.

This made me realize how much my perception of the past (before I was born) is tinged with the quality of video at the time. This video seems very late '80s, but being able to peer into it and see them as they were in 4K makes it feel different in a kind of eerie way. Hard to explain. It seems like past decades (say the '60s) wouldn't be quite as different as they seem in my mind, it would be the same vivid world with people who look largely the same, and simply act and dress a bit differently. I guess I perceive the '20s for example as being dull and fuzzy in reality because of the black and white, poor quality video.

Ngl this is a really solid remastering job. No weird artifacts, no jelly feeling camera smoothing, good motion blur, and the video is just way cleaner while retaining the original colors etc
