I selfishly thought l had ten more years of listening to the wisdom, intelligence and insightfulness of Bill Walton so l am soaking up all the previously unseen interviews and Bill Walton stories l can find on the internet hoping it will last ten years.
That's the way I felt about going to see the "Ramones". I said to myself, Oh, I'll skip out on this show their always coming around and before I knew it Dee Dee, Joey and Johnny were gone.
Bill Walton great on the court, when his body allowed it, and even greater off the court, in so many ways. Rick Carlisle's story about Bill setting him up with tix for the Dead show is a perfect example. God Bless Bill Walton. R.I.P. Big Red.
I saw Rick hit a game winning shot against South Carolina when he was a freshman at U Maine. He wore #34 and I changed my number on my basketball team to 34 after that game. 😀
