However, I think Jeff Lowe set the whole thing up knowing Joe would be stupid enough to fall for it, and he could get rid of him that way. Fortunately most of the locals at least, had a pretty good idea of what Joe was all about. I hope they interview the owner or manager of Joe Exotic's rival here in Oklahoma--Arbuckle Wilderness. It's another exotic animal park across the highway from Turner Falls. They publicly sniped at each other for years. I didn't pay much attention even though AW is only about 15 miles as the crow flies from our place. My son used to work for a supplier of Joe's zoo--he was never disillusioned about the guy--and said Joe was a super jerk to almost everybody. Years ago, we started spotting a black leopard hanging out in the public hunting area between Chickasaw Natl. Wildlife Refuge and Lake of the Arbuckles, and rumors going around that someone from Joe's zoo snuck in to AW and left a gate open allowing the leopard to get loose, in order to sabotage AW's reputation. Have no idea how it actually happened, but I did see the black cat, although I don't think it was a leopard, I think it was a standard black mountain lion. LOL, anyway--yeah, Joe's a super jerk.

@Travis Butler Yes, ordinarily they are tan or light brown. I had to go look it up, I had read somewhere that some mountain lions occasionally had "sports" that featured black coats. It appears this is incorrect--black or melanistic individuals are either leopards or jaguars. Thank you for the correction!
