I just read a ny times article yesterday about a black doctor buying a home in VA and the owner tried to cancel it when she realized she was black. They were closing and the owner tried to pull that stunt! Just crazy.

The housing situation here in Chicago still has a discrimination problem. No matter how much money you have, they try to steer you to the Black and poor neighborhoods. There have a lot of lawsuits.

New York is rough. Love it, but had to move to ATL. I was paying almost 3K for a box. Slowly but surely I see them pushing the blacks out. And quiet as it's kept, most NY apartments is shared occupancy, caus the rent is too expensive. Just in 2017, Brooklyn use to be majority black, now it almost unrecognizable. It's getting harder and harder for the average man.

ATL had no water. ALMOST all weekend? The police were out in Full Force to prevent people from parking on the neighborhood street. It’s kinda hard to miss his monstrosity of a home. It sits at the corner of a major intersection with a ton a land. There are no other homes of that magnitude in that area. At most they pulled into the wrong gate entrance at the guesthouse.
Last year was better. I watched the city council meetings. He bought Evander Holyfields house. Yes its 300 acres but it's in a regular neighborhood. There's a small boys group home down the street (for context). The first year: Neighbors complained about the noise and inability to get to their homes. Rick's team coordinated logistics with police dept and everyone was happy. This year: looks like they oversold the event. A family friend went and she said they waited 2 hours for the shuttle and they paid $250 for their tickets. Sorry did the long post.

The qualification IS 40x the rent! So if the rent is $2500 you better be at $100k. But it's just a different calculation, 4x instead of the 3x you mentioned. Because 3x works out to a $90k salary.
Years ago Madonna was upset when her application was rejected to purchase a home in NYC. It was big news. She was rejected because of her lifestyle. Also rejected in NYC were other celebrities like Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith, Mariah Carey and Barbara Streisand. Although that white landlord might have only wanted to rent to another white person or maybe he didn't like Mr. Pierce's lifestyle, who knows why his application was denied. Maybe with time the truth will be revealed..

I went back for a visit and to see where Bill Clinton's office was, etc in about 2003, and was blown away by the changes in Race and Ethnicity. As a result, I don't know if you can afford to live there now, with residents like Marcia Gay Harden and Neil Patrick Harris living there. Their homes were featured in maybe People Magazine. The internet says Harlem is now 44% black and the white population is steadily rising- Yea, it is a fact: HARLEM IS NOT THE SAME.

I definitely believe Mr. Pierce was denied the apartment because he is black. Otherwise, if it's another reason, why not be transparent about the reason. I have denied tenants explaining it's due to their credit history, bad rental history, etc. That orange man has emboldened these racist, hence the recent job posting that went viral, which stated "whites only." OAN, My girl MJB is one of the few solo artists with more than 10 albums. I believe she has had 14 🤎
