same here, im not religious but i do like how the spanish celebrate easter its really a amazing thing to see, im about to go to seville tomorrow for the weekend so am looking forward to that.

I watched this episode in tears, praying that these beautiful Easter traditions in Europe would be fully restored after this year. I'll never forget the emptiness of Easter of 2020, caused by corona virus pandemic.

This show was very impactful. I am a Christ follower and know how important this week's celebrations are to the church. My tears are for these same traditions that may not be able to be held this year with the COVID-19. I pray many will find ways to hold their remembrances.

Wow I am watching this with envy....I am yearning for those old traditions, heritage, and family gatherings during Easter (also Christmas) because I never had that in my country where christians are minority. I wish one day I can celebrate Easter and Christmas in Europe

The rituals are beautiful, costumes magnificent, I would love to visit Slovenia and Seville during these events, taking in the color and tradition. When I travel I leave my judgements at home, hoping to see the proceedings through the eyes of those who participate. Excellent video Mr Stevens

View or read about the 'Dead Sea Scrolls' or view many paintings, the cultural customs and traditions of the time. Cherishing the Jewish Feasts and fasinating rituals they do through. One can see the influence of Spain to my country (Philippines) during "Semana Santa". The only catholic country in Asia. You'll see so many similarities in the custom and tradition during lent, In my country you'll see the same elaborate "carozas"paraded during Holy Week up to the culmination activities of Easter. Though there are some pagan rituals that never ceased but instead adapted the Christian belief such as the "penitencia"(flagellants), "cenaculo" (passion plays) and many more depending upon the region or island. Though one thing is for sure the week is for penance, reflection, adoration and exultation of the God's salvation to mankind.

Rick, thank you for this episode. From a travel show point of view, it is important to discuss the history of our Christianity in Europe ; with this background knowledge, you can, as a professional traveller, truly understand why people around the globe flock by the millions and millions to see very sacred places, very special locations that are part of our history and culture. Rick, just think about all the episodes you have produced on any European country and how you can understand why so many of the greatest and beautiful monuments on the globe have inspired all those of the faithful to travel TO Europe. I truly suggest that you think about any European country/episode and I am very certain that holy Christian places and Christian monuments are usually at the top of that travellers' list (let alone the world's most instantaneously recognizable works of art, based in Christianity) . I am quite certain you would agree. That being said, keep up the awesome work; there are very few travel shows that are as wonderful as yours and the amount of work that must go into them. Thank you !

I'd love to go to Italy and participate in Venice's Carnival. Dressing up in an elegant disguise and a mask sounds like a lot of fun! If given the option, I'd go with a harlequin costume rather than a fancy gown.
