Rick Wakeman tells a hilarious story about working with John Anderson and Trevor Rabin on Anderson Wakeman Rabin Tour at the Ace Hotel October 22, 2019
Whenever I'm in a bad state of mind, all I have to do is watch a few minutes of Rick's hilarious story-telling... and everything's fine again. Gotta love this guy!
His timing is impeccable. I've seen so many of his solo shows, usually in tiny venues or small churches and he is always hilarious. His piano playing isn't bad either.
Al Stewart has said that Wakeman (who played in Stewart's band) would suddenly stop in the middle of recording a track in order to tell a joke that had just occurred to him.
Frank Fallows told me a story of how they covered Rick's keyboards in clingfilm before a gig. Frank was the tour manager for Yes and Pink Floyd. He now runs a travel agents.
The songs you wanted to hear mentioned right at the end of this video (in case you didn't find them) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GqnJNl67WDI.html&ab_channel=AislesMusicVisions
I didn't know this until I got on the Internet, but the name on his birth certificate is in fact "John". I think he simply prefers "Jon"--it makes his name a little less conventional.
I prefer the Monty Python type of humor, compared to the Benny Hill type of humor, that Rick has. The rest of the band actually preferred the Monty Python more dopey kind of humor as well. Watched a interview with Squire where he said that.
Peter -it’s a real story of Trevor accidentally knocking Rick’s teeth loose with his guitar. I guess because Rick mentions Being on tour with Jon and Rick someone labelled this video that way.🤷♂️
I’ve listened again and the tentative bit about Trevor knocking his teeth is just an opening for a JOKE, it’s not a funny story about touring it’s a JOKE, again for the dimwits.....a joke!!!!
@@brodjefferson3513 Well there's no question that Ringo lays awake at night wishing he could trade places with a bitter little nobody on the internet. 😂 Bahahahahahhaahahahahha
@@stub2022 Have fun being a millionaire defender. The fact that that talentless prick is regarded as one of the best drummers of all time says a lot about the state of music education
@@brodjefferson3513 I'm not sure where you're getting your worldview from, but nobody has EVER said that he's one of the best drummers of all time. Like many people on the internet, you're raging against a perspective that doesn't exist.
@@stevefoster4732 He was at a local venue and the sound system was way less than O K . I asked my wife if he was speaking Mandarin ! It was a joke , the sound system. Sat close enough and had fun . That's the ticket !
