Ricky Gervais is an inspiration to me. The guy started life in a working class background and has fought to get to where he is today. Legend. He's still humble too which you don't often see when people get a taste of the limelight.

I'm about to watch this with my girlfriend, I recently showed her Derek and I couldn't stop crying. But bursting out laughing too.. Would have been even better if you had asked or at least mentioned Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington, Ricky’s team when it came to, let’s face it, inventing Podcasts. Always find it such a shame that Ricky seems to talk about everything but Steve and Karl. It’s almost as if he tells his interviewer to not ask about or mention them. How many opportunities were there during this podcast when talking about the office and extras to mention Steve. Why doesn’t Idiot Abroad get mentioned? The XFM show? The podcasts themselves? A real shame. Not wanting to come across a hater by any means, I will fall asleep listening to those podcasts later and eagerly await Afterlife! Also, always a pleasure to hear Ricky.

How have I only just stumbled across True Geordie Podcast! Literally head and shoulders above every other podcast out there

This was AWESOME !! Love Ricky. His humour is right up my street. Everything he has done and his love for animals makes him my number 1 guest at a dinner party. You can come to Brian. Laurence can bring the can of Fosters

Every single word that man says is true. The way he talks about the world is the same as me. Watching this podcast is crazy because I was sat there agreeing with everything he said because the way he says things is the same as me. Normally I'll watch a podcast and disagree with alot of stuff but I just can't everything he says is true and wish more people where like him. Not only is he funny but he's cleaver and he knows his stuff. The man's a true legend. Also I have a lot of opinions and views on certain things but it's hard for me to stand up and voice them as I have a lot mental health problems and I feel like people would jump to that. So to have someone that has the same views and opinions as me and someone who can voice them to more people is amazing and is a big inspiration for me to start speaking out and to start helping other people. Great podcast mate!

listened to the whole hour and 40mins and no mention at all to Stephen mertchant, who contributed so much to ricky's carear. this makes me really sad to think that stephen ricky and karl dont mention each other despite contributing so much to each other's rise to fame. i guess geordie was told prior not mention steve as they fell out but to not mention him at all in a 100min podcast is upsetting to me as a fan of ricky, i hope im not the only one who noticed this and who is upset by this. in addition they dont even speak about the xfm shows and podcasts which really defined ricky as a comedian, especially since in the past geordie mentioned that he started the pod because of the ricky gervais show. i am really sad to say i am disappointed with this podcast despite having listened to all the other tg podcasts. i guess celebrities go their separate ways and no longer remain friends but i still think they deserve a name check. anyway keep up with the pods brian still a big fan.

I know this was done a few years ago. Could really leave or take Ricky, but over lockdown i have watched more of his comedy and Podcasts and found him to be the British equivalent of Bill Burr. Very blunt, on the money, but funny as fuck. Thank you Ricky for your comedy genius. It has helped me through many challenging times. 👍👍

Ricky's points on art and the quest for popularity is something I needed to hear today

Huge Gervais fan but I've heard all of this before. It was like an extended interview/stand-up show. Agree with everyone who says that the podcast missed an opportunity with this. Didn't help that the two presenters were very sycophantic. Also like others, interesting Gervais never mentioned Merchant once while talking about the Office/Extras.

Ricky just makes me laugh with way he delivers his jokes 😂

The one thing that annoys me about Ricky is that it always seem to be me, me, me with him. They talk about the office and extras for quite a while and how brilliant the writing was but not once does he mention Steve merchant. Great podcast nonetheless, love listening to ricky

This is such a lovely interview. Ricky's blindspot is not admitting that The Office IS the best thing he's ever done. His other work is great but that was the holy grail.
