The media made us think Ricky Williams was crazy dope head. He is not. That brother is very intelligent. He has his own mind and he don't ride the wave like everyone else. An independent thinker. We need more brothers like him. God bless him.
I remember seeing Ricky in person back when he played at Texas. He looked like a bodybuilder back then the guy was huge, pure muscle. He really hit the genetic lottery. I think he's got the soul of an artist .He was always an eccentric guy.
This man should literally be the leader of the black community. Young black men should be striving to be like this man. Ricky Williams u are a true role model
Ok, this was a FANTASTIC and much NEEDED interview !!! GREAT questions ! I remember Ricky back in the day and felt SO BAD for him for all the mess he went through in his career. When it comes to the MONEY, HE definitely STILL needs somebody to protect him and his decision making. I would want Peggy's HEAD on a STICK if she robbed me! I would NEVER let that shit go! He is definitely one of a kind.🙄
I think this man would totally get and understand me especially with how I feel and think about money. The stuff is just not important to me. Life is too much of an awesome experience to have to live it working for money
I bet his ass is a Taurus… talkin about “sometimes I need a good argument!” Boy, bye!!! 😂😂😂😂 However, this was an excellent interview! 🙌🏽 Ricky is an interesting thinker and person. The questions were on point-took us down a nice, windy path-scenic route!! 👍🏽 God bless Ricky and his family!
Man I appreciate the hell out of you Ricky Williams. This interview really has hit me in my heart. Resonates so much for me in my life right now. Thank you for being who you are. Much respect!
Around 2001-02, I met Ricky when he was looking for a Spanish textbook after he returned in Spring semester to finish college at Texas. Nobody recognized him and I talked to him pretend
Pretending to not know who he was. Really nice . Asked me questions. Answered mine. Returned to his Humvee and did an illegal uturn across 4 lanes of traffic. Lol
This man was vastly misinterpreted and misunderstood during the era he was in his 20s.. imagine if he was transported from 97 to 2021. Ricky was a wrecking ball.. it's a travesty he wasn't drafted #1 or by the redskins..he would've wrecked shop with both teams. Any franchise that would've gave him instant comfort would've had a gem. We didn't get to see his true greatness even tho we saw glimmers in Miami..
Man...so much of that in this world. So many turds out there, but a lot of Great people and I do feel like the odds of more & more good to great people in this world is constantly building & improving. Just have to trust your instincts and stay away from turds. 🤙
I wouldn’t argue that with anyone. Anyone can look at the tape and come out and say he’s the greatest they ever saw. I love Ricky Williams and he’s a true role model from actions to words
Followed Ricky since Alvarado football. You can tell he speaks from his heart and is humble. "God don't make junk". There's nothing wrong with me! "Go where your celebrated and not tolerated". Words of wisdom and maturity.
he's really just a Real, Natural, Authentic Human Being. this is what a Human is supposed to look like without all of the Social/Cultural Engineering Baggage we are Indoctrinated with since Birth.
I remember Ricky Williams spoke in 2015 on 60 minutes and he came across as a 'Stoned Pony" whose primary interest was weed. Excellent interview here as Ricky is a deep thinker without ego with strong spiritualism. Ricky Williams was very talented running back in the NFL but did not accomplish what his talent held for him. Ricky comes across as an honest dude and is easy yo like.
@@heydudedolfan13 the dolphins played team ball. I never liked Marino, he always threw interceptions at the worst time. Griese not so much. Winning is the name of the game. Stats don’t mean Jack
His outlook is amazing. So many of us me included live so miserably because we are so stressed about money. I’ve never had anywhere close to 6 or 8 million. This man lost millions and didn’t let it make him miserable. Thank you Ricky. You’ve given me a new perspective. I’m going to try my best to not let losing a 20 or rent ruin my days. I’m gonna try. TRY. Oh man I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it lol.
Much respect for Ricky Williams! Such a fan on and off the field.🙏🏽🙌🏽 And Shawn Prez is a much better interviewer then Vlad. No disrespect to you Vlad!
TEXAS!!!.....FIGHT!!! TEXAS!!!...FIGHT!!!🤘🏽🤘🏽RICK was cold blooded in the football field and has a strong mind much respected for him f the nfl they were just using him.
No offence to shawn prez which did a good job. But I think Ricky Williams is the type of person that deserves the reapect by being interviewed by the person the channel is named after. Maybe there is something im missing but i hope vlad didnt dismiss Ricky as someone not worth interviewing. Becuz thats the furthest thing from the truth. He is the MAN. He is pure and genuine to the core and a phenomenal athlete. I am going to continue to watch ONLY becuz Im a HUGE Ricky Williams Fan
I remember meeting him my 1st Semester at Nova Southeastern University in 2009 where the Dolphins trained at in the Offseason. He enrolled in classes there to finish his Degree. If you had no idea who he was you would never think he was even interested in Sports. Used to walk around Campus by himself like its was nothing and would talk to anybody. It was surreal to see at thst time
I always liked this man growing up because he had my name. But ive learned to appreciate who he is as a person. Humble, healthy and happy...cant beat that
Bro. I've learned so much from Ricky and this interview. He said, have the courage to be yourself and people will eventually give you the space to do so. I am similar to him in many ways. Misunderstood and spiritual...I share some of his same problems...without a public profile. Mustve been hard for the king. Thank you Mr Williams
A deep, thoughtful man who recognized that life is unpredictable and success is defined by one's ability to accept fortune and misfortune with equanimity.
I was with him until he said that he likes a little confrontation in his marriage. His first wife seemed like a ideal woman. No arguing, handles business, consistent personality, always remaining the same person. Just goes to show you, what some people would cherish, other people consider it HELL.
Classic case of how you cant trust the media to form your opinion… social or otherwise. The media had us thinking this dude was a clown, pot head, and immature idiot. He’s not who they made him to be.
Ricky talks about self respect over getting the most money possible for himself while still a rookie but then dresses up like a bride on the cover of nationally syndicated magazine. You can't get anymore disrespectful to yourself than that as a heterosexual Black man.
Great interview. I've been a Dolphins fan since 1980 and appreciate Ricky's time in Miami. I fondly recall his 200-yard game in Buffalo. I still have his jersey. I also think the interviewer was excellent.
Ricky Williams was one of the first NFL players I knew because he was on the NFL Street cover, so he automatically became one of my first favorite players, I was confused as a kid though because it seemed like he would just always come back and disappear and somehow still be playing for the Dolphins, I didn't really know about the suspensions or retirement as I remember first finding out about Canadian football and seeing Ricky Williams there and I was just wondering why he was there and not in the NFL, I'm glad to have some more insight to him as a person because he is a very interesting person
WHY AM I NOW FINDING OUT ABT RICKY?!! Man was always manifesting abt his future whats the next step to find his Inter self. My man was a different breed 😳🤯
This interview is by far one of my favorites on Vladtv. Ricky Williams the tinted mask classic . Love the Dolpins and admire Ricky Williams the person even more. I always admired athletes for the God given talent but I like his outlook on life. 7m stole and wasn't even vexed about it. Insane outlook. Ricky Williams mad respect.
Wow I’ve been binge watching his interviews this guy just did wat he thought was best for him. Even tho the nfl tried to black ball him smh 🤦♂️. He was a great football 🏈 player and he just needed some time to find himself after the nfl
Yea bro was a lil odd lol and he had very bad business decisions lmaoo all respect tho but man it’s like bro chose every wrong path every chance he had😭
Ricky just wants to fall back and live a regular life. The NFL, or being a Professional Football player, isn’t Ricky’s end all be all. He has a lot more to give in his life. But I must admit...he is a little different though. 🤔
I never knew he came from a super religious family. Crazy childhood. I really feel for Ricky. So good to see he came out the other side with some normalcy and self awareness.
