дерьмо. Stupid name for a show with equally brain-dead pronunciation. One of the commentators sounds like he never went through puberty, and his annoying voice throughout the video is torture. Watching this "show"; a fate worse than death.
Funny video, but full pens are really where its at. Yamato would win 100% of the time in a fight between half-competent captains because of that 32 mm overmatch.
In real game: Yamato 32mm overmatch >>>>>>>>>>> republique being bullied at any range. I mean, repulbique is not bad, but ships with 32mm overmatch are the direct counter for them.
@@droidmotorola3884 Yes but still Yamato is dangerous bb and can be a power house in the right hands to. Republique is for sure a more agile fighter and better arranged armour to let be little more aggressive not true brawler like German bbs but doesn't have obvious cheek weak points. But Yamato for sure can have those meme worthy 360 across the map no scoping moments that can instantly delete an enemy ship at almost to full hp. Which for sure can leave for some salty moments for enemy players. So even though Republique won the competition. Yamato is very much a strong power house and can deal with tougher targets that might give other battleships some some trouble. Like its good for breaking German Turtle Back armour and Shishka is god tier at that with its 510mms. But the trade off is the don't get to have the dpm of Republique. But Yamato shells hit like a car slamming against a concrete wall. So If Yamato Hits you can be really punished for it. Where is republique might not hit as hard it can more shots in before Yamato can and I think it has reload booster common with French bbs. Also I think Yamato is good at seal clubbing or finishing off badly damaged enemies just do the caliber were republique may struggle in some situations for various reasons to do the skill of the enemy player or just a really bad case of rng so at least Yamato doesn't hurt as bad when it gets bad roll on damage than other bbs more constantly I think But again she doesn't have the rate of that Repulique has to compensate for bad damage rolls. So Republique may have worse damage roll in Alpha damage but she sure make up for it in sustained damage overall and can afford bad rng rolls more often than Yamato can . So their is more pressure for Yamato player to get it right and gain from doing mass damage to the Republique in a fight. Where Republic as the dpm and to hone on Yamato's weak points. So Yamato is some ways does require a little more patience and some good RNG to punish enemy ships and Republique seems to be a little more forgiving when mistakes happen. I mean Yamato Doesn't have a painfully slow reload its just that Republique has pretty good rate of fire for a large caliber bb at tier 10. Statistically I agree that Republique would win more often do its ability to get closer and run circles around Yamato. But a Skilled Yamato Player is very good a punishing enemy players at longer ranges that push out too especially without support. Which a Republique could potentially Get hit hard by the Yamato if the player isn't aware that a Yamato has them dialed in as a target. But Personally I just enjoy and find it amusing just to see Yamato's just delete anything they look at target they see because its just adds to the WTF just happened moments. One minute a ship driving along and barely getting out of the teams starting area only to be sunk like a minute or 2 later. Then if your the player who got sunk your like curse you Yamato lol.
@@yagdtigercommander I´ve know Yamato since 2015 Yamato was the powerhouse back then but wg has change this game dramatically. Yamato is only good at killing other battleships who´s armor isn´t as good. killing the rest is often out of luck. you´ve said it when RNG is good the ship is deadly to some cruisers which mean is rng dependent which sucks on a BB. thats why yamato is slowly disappearing from competitive battles and we are now seeing ships with more consistency on the guns. like conqueror, thunderer, ohio, slava etc. yamato isn´t a bad ship. the game is just in a horrible state
"GUNS! GUNS! GUNS! AND BIG BADABUMM!!!!" Ok, I am clearly not the part of the audience/playerbase this video is aiming at. What happened to the history-based game I started playing in 2015?
Repeat aloud "Fire ignores armour. Fire ignores saturation. Citadel hits are RNG rolls. There is no such thing as acute-angle overmatch." Ah, the sweet smell of realism
so true. How many times you should a prefectly broadside ship and get no citadel. Doesn't matter if it a BB or CA/CL. Overpens or misses like crazy and this only became worse since the Commander rework.
I love the idea of seeing two MASSIVE BATTLESHIPS just sitting there, plunking away at each other with secondary guns. Like, I could use me main guns, but my tiny guns have a mighty itch.
This video frustrates me beyond belief. Not only is the one voice actor extremely annoying, this video reminds me of children shows with its word choice, and pronounciation being very similar. When the average age of players in the game is 40+ you would imagine that it would be less childish. Not only does wargaming not know their audience, but they have no idea how their game works. Their testing measures were flawed at best. For the firing test with different angles they gave repub the win even though yamato did more damage just because of the citadel hit.
Completely agree. It's honestly pathetic, not only their attempt at making a RU-vid "show", but the talking, nails-on-chalkboard castrato that they hired to say stupid-ass lines
You know this is just for entertainment, right? It honestly feels like what I imagine a talent show with 2 contestants would be like, especially with how similiar the ads are
That would be unfair, because the Duch Cruiser has the capacity to drop bombs like a carrier, so Petropavlovsk would loose unless it keeps out of range from the maximum range of the air attack.
Secondary builds on theese ships make me cringe, like why.... why would you build in secondaries on either, hope this doesnt encourage people to play secondary Yamato, just dont. Also ignoring overmatch is just silly
This test if flawed lol, the aim on the second ship for Republique firing at Yamato was higher than the waterline compared to Yamato firing at Republique. Also.. in real game, Republique needs to be almost broadside to be able to fire 100% of its firepower. Yamato can do 66% of its firepower without risking its citadel.
@@manhunter433 varying levels of player experience in a scientific test does not matter. The point is that both needed to be aimed perfectly in the same area. Yamato could have archived better results more if it was aimed in the exact same point.
@@michaelmeli23 But still carried the same health pool which means Republique's upgrades are significantly stronger than Yamato's And Yamato carries 24x 127mm + 6x 152mm Vs Republique's 12x 127mm + 9x 152mm ... WG's whole logic is that smaller guns do more damage which is why light cruisers can somehow do more damage than a battleship. They put the same philosophy into World of Tanks too
If any new players see this and thing the Republique is better than the Yamato, it isn't. If anyone here think the Yamato should get buffed, you're insane. First off, in the current meta of the game which is basically back of the line sniping, Yamato hard counters Republique by a long shot. Republique is coated in 32mm armor plating and Yamato with it's 460mm guns overmatches the armor regardless of angling. If it came down to a 1v1, Yamato also will almost always win if Yamato angles well or just sits nose in while constantly penetrating Republique. The only damage Republique can do if the Yamato is angled is by penetrating the superstructure. As for Secondaries, Republique's secondaries are not really advised to spec all your points into, sure it has better ones than the Yamato but the point of the Yamato isn't supposed to be close up engagements. Republique's secondaries also aren't German so it doesn't get any improved penetration and it isn't the Premium American BB line so it doesn't get any improved accuracy either. The only real use for them is penetrating superstructure and starting fires. People be saying that Yamato needs a buff, it doesn't and it probably never will. Yamato can smash almost every cruiser in the game since most cruisers have 30mm armor or less. The accuracy of the guns are relatively good but it does suffer from vertical dispersion. Yamato can shit on almost every cruiser and every BB in the game provided it angles and positions well and never show broadside.
@@deviljhodan9082 Kurfurst is and has already gotten a buff because of the secondary rework. Montana might need some slight changes but honestly I don't really see how you would buff it.
@@ris3-xi918 Kürfurst struggles due to the massive superstructure and vulnerability to fire. In this meta the Kürfurst literally can't do what it was made to do. I wouldn't necessarily buff Kürfurst, rather nerf HE and or Fires to actually give Kürfurst and the new BC's a fighting chance.
@@deviljhodan9082 Yeah the superstructure is fucking ridiculous. I smashed a GK for 35k damage on pure pens on the superstructure. As for fires though, I mean nerfing it would hamper a lot of ships that rely on it for damage like destroyers or some low caliber cruisers or ships with low HE DPM but high fire chance.
so yamato lost 2 points because republics whole gimmick is that its hard to citadel. wow great competition.... theres a reason why yamato has been the top pick in comp without cvs for many years and thats because it has the best and most consistent guns for a t10 bb (just after thunderer but we dont talk about that ship) while repub is mostly picked for its gimmick against cvs or in matches where mobility is key to the strat.
The entire format of this "battle" is rather silly. This is a comparison main artillery vs main armour belt, secondaries vs secondaries. A ship is a little more complex than this. For example a KM BB that has good secondaries and turtleback amour can afford to come close and show a fair bit of broadside to bring the secondaries to bear. The average IJN BB will stay at range, because it has accurate at long range but can be citadelled. This dumb format will not bring out those characteristics. The "winner" in this battle has better statistics in some area. Fair enough, I guess you do that for the entertainment value. Some people may be more entertained than others.
wait, what? you mean yamato is outclassed by the fucking republique at range? that overpen on a flat broadside was disgusting, how is it even possible to overpen an entire battleship without dealing significant damage?
A good concept but poorly executed, the voices are really patronising, pls change these and a bit more detail as to pens and citadels etc and will be much better.
Should have disabled fires for both ships.. Too random for the chance to cause a fire....repeat the same test and you can have either half or double the fires caused the time before.....
You should not watch so much US TV shopping shows. After 2 minutes at the latest, you switch off because you think, boy, they want to sell me a washing machine.
It’s quite funny that Yamato can Ignore Armor no matter how angled Republique is apart from Saturation Damage the French gets. Yamato is a Range Sniper, the longer it’s away the more dangerous it gets hence Yamato hull design literally immune to Long Range Citadels, and 32mm plating means that Republique has no chance against Yamato at range. Unless, you making Republique closer to Yamato and hit it on the Broadside which it can do that thanks to its Speed. So the battle will comes out like this. If Range Engagement, Yamato will win with Flying Colours because Republique can’t hurt Yamato at range apart maybe damage her structures. While Republique will get butchered alive by Yamato. Because simply it doesn’t have very good armor against Massive Shell like 460mm where it literally middle finger to 32mm. All Republique can do is pray and avoid shells with its Engine Boost as long as possible but those will stick eventually. Republique will use its speed to get close to the Yamato but this means Yamato will also have pretty much even more accurate at closer ranges too hence her sigma is the best for Battleships (No Battlecruiser is not a Battleship, it doesn’t counts) and Republique can’t angled 32mm is not able to deflect 460mm shells from Yamato. In this case is about who did more mistakes. Republique can kill Yamato but it requires Yamato to make error to even win the fight. Yamato needs Republique driver’s Error like not trying to fight Yamato when Yamato is on the Broadside.
@@user-ve1cs1zc3tyeah lmao he spam repub at range is better then yamato can ever hope to be repub wins at long range and definetly wins in close range
@@MrDanieleThiella probably because these people thought that no one will buy the ship and just removed it. Either that, or trolls got into their sights with the ship
@@Correction_Guy To me a ship with 10 Torpedo lauchers; 15 Km Torpedoes that travels at nearly 60 Knots isn't something to laugh about, it is true that for a T10 had Destroyer like armor, only 4 140mm guns and nearly no AA; but the fact that can put in the water 40 torpedoes is a serious threat to anyone, even ships like Yamato and Kremlin that are in possession of very strong Torpedo Protection. I would understand if instead of the Kitakami, her sister ship Oi would have been inserted in the game, even with all the power of the world, it would have been the target of Trolls forever just because of the name.
