You don't have to because she's 100% American. He ancestors may have been from the subcontinent but once she's born and raised her she's one of ours. When a person of Dutch descent does something bad people from the Netherlands don't show up to disavow them. As a white American I can safely say what she said doesn't reflect on India or Indians at all. The Americans of Indian descent I've known have are good people and the few visitors from India I've come across have been nice and polite. What she said was all her and had nothing to do with India. I actually suspected that the popularity of the BJP (many of whom aren't exactly pro-Muslim) meant many people in India would side with Israel. FWIW it's worth in discussions about race in the US Indians (and all other Asians) are treated essentially as "honorary white people".Everyone recognizes they aren't white or course, but they have the same socioeconomic outcomes (if not better than) white people so they kind of get ignored.
