As Kevin Swantz used to say, there is a lane for all the bikes to race on, and then there's a Honda lane lol. These modern bike games are truly brilliant. Loads of fun.
Thank you for this video Robo. It helped me decide to not buy Ride 5. Just like Ride 4 the AI still doesn’t have to follow the same physics as the player. That being said, I do enjoy your videos and will continue to watch.
@@animaltvi9515The games have much improved since Ride 1, I maybe wouldn't go out and get ride 5 right now, but if you see Ride 3 or 4 heavily discounted I would say go for it.
Definitely an interesting start to the career, if the upgrade applications are indeed bugged like the other commenters suggest then it's going to get really frustrating until you have enough cash to fully upgrade bikes before entering anything. I'm also surprised that there's no EV Bikes given how a lot of manufacturers in the car world have been using games to promote their products. Obviously there's a lot less EV Bikes but I did atleast expect one Energica to make it in just as a bit of a change of pace.
ive been thinking of going back to ride 2 for the more varied career events. ride4 is boring me with all the 1000cc sportbike events. i dont want to play motoGP.

All I want to know Robo is, does the physics engine in this feel like an evolution of the previous Ride games? Cuz if it's a re-skin of GP21 (like SBK22) that would swear me off future ride games like GP21 did for GP22 and SBK22. GP21/SBK22 is unplayable for me. GP20 and previous games I could easly beat a.i. on full sim w/120% difficulty. But I can't make it around two corners in GP21/SBK22 without the bikes deciding, nah, I want to just flop down right now. Edit: Guess I should watch your first couple videos on Ride5. They didn't pop in my notifications b4 this one.
i am not getting mine until release day as i pre-ordered the disc so i can put it with all my other milestone game i pray this game is better then ride4, ride 4 is the only milestone game i have not finished for a reason but they shipped it today i could get lucky and get it a day early
You need to change your final crown and your gears and you will notice the lower yiu adddd to the bike. Also stay upright longer to break sooner then crest ovrr and give it the gas. It might feel slow but your timea will go up. Big.
Don't know if it's a bug, but I upgraded my bike for Snetterton and the upgrades didn't work until I restarted the championship. I brought slick tyres but could only select them once I had completed all 3 races and started the championship again.
The AI will get better(or simply their bikes get more magic horsepower) as you upgrade your bike, at the *_same_* AI skill level. This is why I will be more cautious with upgrades from now on. I tried a bike with more topspeed and it did literally nothing. They will just adapt to which ever bike and upgrades you got, so at least from what I see you will have to adjust the AI skill level down from what we're used to in similar games. 120% here is more difficult than say Ride 4. It is literally what many have been asking for so now it should challenge anyone. Will of course have to see how this pans out with all bike types and classes though, so at least from these underpowered bikes the difficulty is there pretty much. I even tried putting the AI on calm and they still ride outside of the track to pass me when I have the inside line on 100% difficulty. Nobody should ride outside of the track. If someone has the inside line you have to go around him obviously, or just wait for the next better opportunity. Personally I only want to get all bikes and have them fully upgraded. The results in singleplayer does not interest me in anything but getting the credits to upgrade bikes. After that it is multiplayer for the most part, and some time trial here and there.
This is terrible design as it means the AI reaches top speeds and cornering grip levels the player can never get to. It's the worst kind of artificial difficulty. It's pretty dumb to praise Milestone for this.
@@fransisigos It is what it is. You can adjust the difficulty slider up and down to your own liking to combat this very thing. Personally I've just turned the contact to off so I won't be divebombed. I am more interested to see how we can more quickly gain credits in this game, because I see no weekly challenges here as in Ride 4. How are we supposed to purchase and upgrade all bikes with the low amount you get from winning single player races...
its same as 4, u need max upgrade bike and often a specific bike to win, also robo plays on +9000% difficulty everyone else on easy it should be doable, but yea, you've played this game before

@@adamsrcs7205Not really, as long as you can adjust the final drive ratio, stock gearing is fine. Honestly I don't think Milestone codes the race gearboxes right. I've tried adjusting them to make bikes that are sluggish when they shouldn't be (I'm looking at you Honda RC213V-S and RC51) actually quick and didn't make a difference.
When I play Ride 2 and 4 I have to set the 1,2,3,4,5 gears way low so the riders don't pass me, I can see them AI's bikes have upgraded bikes and there gears are low for more acceleration. Problem when setting the gears low for more acceleration, Lowering the gears can cause sliding out around corners, Seeing them AI's able to corner so well they don't slide, they have better traction.
What difficulty would you recommend for a new player in the ride series to start with for a good challenge? I seem to be getting 1st or second in every race on like a 45% difficulty but I don’t wanna always get smoked if that makes sense. Like I said I’m very new to ride but love it and just don’t know much about the difficulty settings
hay robo please do more of this as im likeing it and i want to see how far you get and i want to know why dont you change the diffical to meduim or very easy so you can win more better.
One thing im wondering. Ride 4 had automatic tuck in option. If you didnt have it on you had to tuck in by pressing RB or LB. I was wondering as robo has the most difficult setup is he aware of this? Because that will make you loose hard on straights. Came to my mind as on a straight when he was close to AI he seemed way more tucked in thin Robos character.
Ride 5 only has Automatic Tuck-In, they removed the manual option. The difference between Robo's Stance and the AI is just his Driver's Riding style which is a cosmetic option.
@Robo46 have you tried any of the endurance races and noticed any issues after the first ai pits? I'm unable to finish the first endurance race and career is at a standstill on the Latin endurance chapter - can't progress career because endurance races never seem to end.
Any tips on braking? Maybe you could make a video with tips? I struggle a lot with the braking at ABS 1, I have to brake much earlier than the ideal trajectory suggests, and with ABS 0 I keep losing the front
I've found that regardless you have to brake before suggested by the line whether turns only or full racing line. You also basically have to down shift yourself and/or use the rear brake much much more than in gp23 and definitely more than ride 4. Manually downshifting helps most though. Defeats the purpose of auto trans I know, but at least we don't have to upshift? 🤷♂️
Also I really wish the corners only was like moto gp23 and just gave you a brake / apex marker instead of the colored line that you can never see til its too late
Future video idea for Ride 5... making custom liveries for bikes maybe? Or showing which bikes CAN have custom liveries, cos on ride 4, none of the bmws could have custom liveries
I dont think they are. I upgraded my bike and tyres mid championship and I could only select my new tyres once I had completed the 3 races and started again. Next time of doing the 3 races it was easier. It must be a bug which needs to be fixed

that's ridiculous straight speed from the ai lol, have you tried to change the gearing to get more top speed to maybe trick the ai to be more faster than they actually are or they actually have some limitation.
This is the problem with milestone. They dont change. The ai is absolutely way to op in these games. Always have been. You thinkwith a 5th game they get it by now. Milestone doesnt learn from its previous games. They dont listen to players or feedback. Its quite infuriating. Make it easier. And add smaller bikes or adjust the speed of the bigger bikes
Hi mates! Is this game much better than R4? Recently I bought R4 and already on the middle of my career and now I don't know what to do..to discontinue my R4 career and to buy R5, or better to continue with R4 and to wait until they polish R5 and add more content? What do you think guys?
Wait until they polish Ride5. It looks just as a small cosmetic upgrade of Ride 4. There was more of a difference in ride and feel between Ride2, Ride3 and Ride 4. This is just like Ride4S.
just don't its a waste of money. complete garbage. even the color grading looks very awful. just buy motogp23 personally i got good on ride 4 and made me appreciate ride 4 even more.
Im so mad! I bought ride 5 special edition $89 for pc to play yesterday, but just consoles are available to play 3 days early. Wtf Milestone? Whats wrong with these guys? They will lose money because im going to buy the standard version $59.
Really wish a better company would pick up this IP, so much wasted potential. Milestone just churns out the same old cash grab every couple years with some new gimmick.
Am I the only one not going to buy this game. Most bikes are recycled and certain new models (mt-10, new street triple) are not even included and most tracks are the same with a few tweaks to the physics engine and visuals. Milestone is increasingly becoming lazy
Must admit, this looks like a massive disappointment. That AI is some of the worst in any racing game ever, from any era of gaming. The graphics look sub par, although maybe that's just RU-vid compression. It's just a re-hash of Ride 4 with some fancy clouds in the sky that nobody really cares about.
Um..No Phillip Island??! WTF?!! That just doesn't make any sense at all. Why would they leave that place out?? One of the best places to race...and not in ride5. BLOWS!! Who was the ignoramous that made that sorry decision....big boss said...."No. Ive decided not to put Phillip Island in RIDE5." I can tell ya who it was...It was Mr. Dummypants!
why can't anyone make a bike street racing like Road Rash back in the day.. the game is simple enough just make it into todays mechanics and graphics. not that I asked it to be a racing game like NFS nor The Crew etc. (Although that would be epic!).
Without doubt the worst in the series for ridiculous amount of collisions!!! I know ya can turn them off but that looks stupid... Seems totally pointless to me unless they fix this... I mean every corner ffs 🤷🏻♂️
