Ben Johnson was raised on a large cattle ranch in Oklahoma where his father was the ranch foreman, Ben Johnson later took a break from acting to pursue a professional rodeo career where he won the prca team roping world championship
I know what you mean, love those times myself and Disney then as well. Air Force 70/71, short term because my father was dying and had to go home to be with my mother, both were in there 60s and married for 42 years, it hit her hard when he passed. She gave up eating and living, and would have died soon after if I wasn’t there to help her cope with her mourning. I had to be there to help her out and coax her to keep going on and living….it took 2 years before she finally was able to get back some of her old self back and live again. My children helped with that part by giving her something else to focus upon instead of her grieving and sadness, they were babies then and she seen them growing up into age 5 and one 17 years old before she passed away. I miss both my parents and the times we spent watching these movies and weekly shows. HIGH 5…👍❤️🙏🏼
😊 I love these movies that Disney put out, and many with actors/actresses I’ve seen and recognized in them. I’m hoping I can find more of them, today’s movies just don’t cut it with me, they seem to be emotionally draining and empty in characters, stories and writers. I love Ben Johnson and his sincere acting ability with his characters, he was a great actor and often had seen various films with him in it….RIP Ben…I wish there were more like you in the film industry…. 👍❤🙏🏼
It a pity that the old Walt Disney's movie formula has faded away as this western proves just how good that formula was. Thank you for sharing this entertaining western with us.
@@jeremyrowe743 Hmm. Movie makers don't give punters what they want as they are so obsessed with creating unbelievable action that they force punters to forget about reality & practicality. Ha-ha
I guess I will make it unanimous! Definitely one of Disney world's best features. All the greats Ben Johnson, Dub Taylor, Jack Elam and the rest. My favorite line, "You aint leavin till you had some supper". I am already at the supper table. I still love this feature.
This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time . And I love westerns. Thank you Disney for another wonderful wholesome movie . And thank you for posting this movie for us to enjoy .
My only regret about watching this was that they didn't display Walt Disney himself introducing another one of his epic movies like he did in the 50's and 60's
👍👏👌 I'm mighty glad that there is a happy ending! I want, I love and I need happy endings. Especially nowadays. Thanks a lot for uploading and sharing this old Disney movie. Best regards luck and health.
I really love these old bridges . I visited a little messianic christian church in 2010 & 11 in Conyers Georgia & there is a bridge like this down there .
Decades ago!! Loved the westerns @ Sunday evenings... PJ's ON. Couldn't wait to watch TV w my Bro's..or folks. In High School it was RobertBlake. DavidCarradine Baretta AND Kung Fu. . Two opposite characters. Loved 'em both!!!!!.
Well, old Walt didn't disappoint me, Jack Elam was still all those things I said 2 days ago PLUS. He'd added a few inches around the waist too. 🤣 A good show thanks!
I wonder if that's the same black horse that's in so many of the Bonanza movies? Just saw him in Bonanza movie starring James McArther Jr. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😅😅😅😅😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
@@buddyt4297No, but 40s - 70s Disney held traditional Jude’s-Christian values upon which this country was built. They have thrown that out the window and have lost the respect they once enjoyed.
I beleive that ben johnson has been in more westerns than anyone.cant recall the number.from stuntman to acting cowboy.hes outstanding!surprise carrol oconner preformance as well.he played an ass but he did it well...also good actor!jack elom good here too.he was contracted with Disney for some time.
That is first class viewing top cast plot and story the moral of this is top movies can be good old reality thank you for this treasure ❤❤😂😂❤😂❤😂❤😂❤😂❤😂❤❤❤
A great ending but it sure took a long time getting it there. One ☝️ of the actors who starred 🌟✨⚡️💫in the movie 🍿 was Jack Elam as the sheriff. His bad left eye 👁️ looked as bad as it. ever did. He was stabbed with a pencil with an altercation with a fellow Boy Scout. It blinded him in that eye. The other 3 of my favorite 4 actors were, and still are: Richard Widmark in The Last Wagon, Gregory Peck in Roman Holiday and Charles Bronson in his western movies. Not so much in many of the others. 😊
I liked Charles Bronson in Charr. What an amazing body for an older man. Also, the movie 🍿 where he told the guy that he had brought 2 many horses 🐎. And I can’t forget The Magnificent Seven. I nearly cry every time I watch it because he was so sweet to the little children and he got killed. 😢😢😢😢
All these comments raving about Ben Johnson, who indeed was a great guy, but not one about Harry Carey Jr, who was a great western actor, and Ben's lifelong best friend!
I loved the cartoon specials. Especially Donald Duck 🦆. None of the other cartoon characters could get as funny as when he was mad 😡. And we had a children’s record of Jack and the Beanstalk with him and Mickey Mouse. They had a little bit of money 💵 to spend on food and Mickey bought magic beans with it. When he told Donald what he had bought, Donald replied, 🫘? You bought beans 🫘?!!! and I’m sooo hunnngry in the saddest 😢 little pleading 🥺 voice. 🥺😩😢.
Dear old Walt was all about make believe! When I saw Jack as a sheriff, when we all know he's just a no good, low down, ornery Bad man, I just have to watch this one. I'll check back after the showing.
What an evil man, and I've read that Carroll O'Connor was not a very good woman in real life either. Maybe it wasn't so hard for him to actually act mean. Maybe he was just kinda like Joan Crawford. Just playing himself like she just played herself. A truly good evil woman. 😮😮😮😮😮😮
This movie is actually pretty Twisted. Carroll O'Connor putting a gun up to a horse's head? That poor kid yelling don't shoot him! Disney made some good things and some bad things then and now.
