Thank you for this! I am moving to Downtown Davie next month from Plantation, I'll be less than a mile from New River Groves. I'll definitely have to try that pie!
I used to live in Davie in the late 90's early 2000's and at 4:23 in the video there used to be mobile homes. I used to live in an apartment building and a lot of apartment buildings were converted into condos. The shopping center has been updated but it's for as long as I can remember.
Man this video came right on time. Been feeling extremely low today with all that's been happening, & to see this perked me up a bit. Sending positive vibes from London, England ✊🏽
C-los thank you for the ride along. Your Vlog was exceptional. Love the clear blue sky's of sunny Florida with it's beautiful fluffy clouds. Hope the pie was as good as it looks. Tell my sis I said hey and yall be safe now 💘
My sister works in law enforcement for Davie, it’s actually a great area, that was Bergeron Rodeo Grounds. And yes it has an old time western feeling in some areas, where you can ride your horses if you’d like in that area. Burger-fi yummy 😋. Amen to treating others the way you want to be treated!!! Most people in Davie are super nice and would give you the shirt off their back (no matter race or they know you or not.) and they have great beautiful homes in sunshine & southwest ranches.
I'm thinking of moving to Davie and your comment makes me feel better of my choice I'm from margate/Coral springs born and raised in Broward so is my husband, I've spent time all over fl. But looking for a place to raise my kids how are the schools?
@@shaunamariexo4479 I went to school in Davie at Nova it’s a private public school (so no tuition) it’s a lot better than a normal public school. But for high school I went to private school in Hollywood (chaminade Madonna) so I can’t say how the high schools are by experience.
@@Danielle-mg5lf I went to nova university back in 2008, and lived in davie for a couple of years. Miss the states. BTW, your name and picture look familiar! Did you work as a swimmimg trainer during 2007 at nova UC?
@@shaunamariexo4479 good 😊 Nova elementary and middle is a private public and we’re great i changed to Chaminade - Madonna college prep for high school (nova high students not very interested in learning).
Fun Fact: There was an airport on the grounds where Broward College sits now. It was a military training airport built in the 40's. Also the old Davie Police Department location was on Orange Dr. just west of Davie Rd and is now the Public works Bldg.
Those people you referred to are more prevalent in the Kissimmee/St Cloud area. I made the mistake of going into the Koffee Klutch Kafe when I was visiting friends thinking it was a beatnik coffee shop. Boy was I wrong. And being a person of mixed descent from upstate NY, I stuck out like a sore thumb. I quickly spun around on my heels and beat feet. Since then I have always looked at the spelling of business names.
Wow are you serious!! That's crazy....I've heard about those places even before I moved to Florida, but I also know that no-matter how nice and beautiful Florida is, I still consider it to be the South. However like I said in the video Davie is good to go with me.
C-los Stellar! Video. I'm moving to Davie next week from Plantation. I will definitely going to check out Bob Roth's New River Groves it only 2.4 mil from where I going to rent. Thank you.I was planing to rent an apartment in Weston, but it a litter long drive to Miami for me.
Been there in 04 for a wrestling show at the rodeo arena that you passed by. Yeah the area has changed, definitely I didn’t notice any tension or hate. Everyone was friendly and I ended the night with my friend at Denny’s which isn’t far from there.
C-los Do your thing I like all your stuff - I came out and stayed @ Margaritaville Then went to the grand opening of hard rock casino Great time .... 🏝😎 Robert from Chicago
We live in Maryland in the country side. My husband is considering taking a job opportunity in that area. How country is this place ? We love the country laid back type of life. I don’t like the city and all that comes with it. Also how safe it is for family with young kids?
Damn I didn’t see any crackheads in this video did u pay them to hide? Cuzzzzz I worked at the metro on right on Davie road and yes it looks like that but with a bunch more crackheads 🤣
Thank you for that video. I've been watching you for about a year now. I just moved to Florida last year. I like broward county. Do you know anything about coral springs. I heard it's a very nice place to live. I'm a black person and I like diversity. Thanks again. Peace and Harmony. Keep doing what you're doing.
Davie resident here. Coral Springs is super nice. Right in the middle of Broward, pretty close to Parkland, considered to be a generally high income area itlf that means anything to you
My son went to elementary and middle school in Coral Springs up until 2 years ago and I would disagree with with someone else said..... it's very diverse .. at least at the school my son went to.
I moved to Davie back in the mid 1990s. At the time, that "group" that we're talking about, were still there... though they were already on their way out. But I did witness a few things that kind of stuck with me. Nothing that I could have intervened in, but things I saw while driving around none the less. My comment might be unpopular, but as Florida became more Republican, a lot of these old "Southern Democrats" moved out of the state or went much further north. Ultimately though, Davie is entering into a renaissance period where there's tons of construction. When I moved there in 1996, it had already seen a ton, I mean a ton of decline... with abandoned buildings everywhere, and homeless and drunks walking around. The only two abandoned buildings you see are the McDonalds and the Wendys, and that's only because the buildings are so incredibly old, that they ended up building restaurants further down the street on the other side of Davie closer to the highway. But those will likely be leveled with more multi-level buildings as NOVA, FAU, Broward College, etc., continue to grow and expand.
Thanks, C-Los! Your videos are great. Really, really nice production & music. This is just me, but it feels like there is less racial tension in S. Florida than here in the Bay Area. Maybe bc there are more regular working folks there in general? I'd love to hear your views again on S. Florida vs. WA or CA now that you're settled.
Stephanie Burns South Florida is mostly immigrants. Less white Americans. The most tension is from the different ethnic groups. i.e. Haitians, Cubans, Jamaicans. Etc.
I got a new job in Pembroke Pines and will be moving in 2 months, what suburbs/cities around this area do you suggest?? So far I've been looking for 3 bedroom townhouses/condos in Weston and Aventura.
