For me, FLCL holds a special spot. It hits home about the confusion of growing up, you realize people are just people, you're not special but not entirely irrelevant, you never really grow up (another stupid adult), things like that. It's my top anime for personal reasons, even in front of Bebop. The song was picked since it embodies wanting to see horizons for yourself. like the lyric "Sniper What do you say that you can see in that framed world? I want to touch it before you aim."
the original choice for the ending was One life actually, but the pillows were sceptical about the project or something, and they were like "no not one life use this one"
@@Calebe311 I mean, it absolutely does deserve a lot of respect and affection. Cowboy Bebop and anime originals of the 90's really opened up what anime "is". That and a pretty banger soundtrack as well could easily put it at the top of anime for a lot of people - there's nothing wrong with it.
The beginning guitar rift is the most iconic guitar rift in my life. Anytime I hear it I know exactly what song is about to play. Good memories watching FLCL and Paranoia Agent late at night while everyone else was asleep. Back when there was no care other than what mom was making for dinner...
I think we can all agree, FLCL has touched all of our hearts with the songs they’ve used and how each character acts. I hope for a season 4, my personal favorite season is season 1.
Some of the best songs are barely over 2 mins long. The three minute or more mandate that too many artists subscribe to just weakens the majority of songs. A lot of unnecessary fat that undermines the best parts of the song. At 2 minutes you gotta make sure everything there is strong or else don't bother. This song could easily be stretched to 3 mins but I very much doubt the extension would contribute anything of worth and instead would make an exceptional song "just" great.
Ahh yes, the smell of my childhood in the summer of the mid 2000’s. FLCL changed my life as a kid and I’m glad that it’s had such a lasting impact on people. :’)
THIS is why started playing guitar on my own. I remember now: to make covers of the pillows (and, maybe, someday I would create music as good as theirs)
duuude, these are the guys who made me pick up a bass! (okay maybe it was the anime) But I've been in love with the instrument ever since. Its been a few years now.
It was a combination of the Beck Mongolian Chop Squad anime, and marathon Guitar Hero sessions at my friends house that got me started on guitar. This song and Little Busters helped though.
+ryoga316 WHAAAAAAAAT!??!?!? ...oh, snap, they're gonna fuck it up! no way they don't overdo it. Though, I'd defintely prefer that rather not be the case
As kids/teens, we weren't over-thinking or over-analyzing shows/ media for things like whimsy, magic, writing, creativity, emotions, heart, soul, etc., we were just "in the moment" and blindly enjoying the movie, ya know?
There was nothing to understand, so don’t feel bad. It was nothing more than a collection of things that were of interest to the writer at that time. Giant robots, baseball, music, etc. There wasn’t really a theme, or a point, just a mashup of his hobbies.
@@tgreening there is a point. Embrace the change. Naoto still hidden under his older brother step. That's why he always bring the bat but never swing it. He scared he's not good enough. But he did. He swing the bat and thus began his journey to adolescence not affected with his big brother.
FLCL and all the music it featured meant a lot to me as a young teen. I'm not sure if I am more worried or excited for a new season. The first was complete, and will be hard to match, but the style and world have a lot of potential still. I do sincerely hope they have the pillows on board again, music was a really important aspect of FLCL.
+Mr.Aptronym the new FLCL will be different, an addition to the original, but not a recreation. All my friends felt so let down by the Evangelion rebuilds. I think I'm the only out of the bunch who enjoyed them, because I had zero expectation walking in
RIGHT!?! I found this show when I was 6. I'm 20 now and I am so freaking happy that I remembered enough to find it again. I just finished the last episode. I will probably rewatch all of them again right away... I want more episodes so bad. :(
Neil Corbin It is one of those shows you need to watch multiple times there is just so much going on it is hard to pick up on everything on the first viewing.
If you knew a thing about flcl you'd know that its a complete story, where there is no room for a second season. goboiano.com/news/3338-flcl-is-getting-a-remake-by-production-i.g.-and-we%2527re-all-going-crazy www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2015/08/31-1/production-ig-mentions-possibility-of-flcl-remake operationrainfall.com/2015/09/01/flcl-may-receive-remake-production-g/
Just listening to this song tells you there will never be a better version or remake, and it takes me back to the first time I ever watched FLCL... I miss those days 😭
I've just discovered this great band right now and I fell in love with it instantly. This along with Beat Crusaders and Shonen Knife are my fav!! jrock bands.
I only found out about FLCL and the pillows a week ago, I am now in love with them both. I'm happy to know that years in the future I will feel the nostalgia you all do to
