Newly immigrated to NZ and reading Denniston Rose (Jenny Pattrick). This totally gives you the feel for the incline.

The Eighth Wonder of The World... It would be fair and reasonable to suggest those brave and courageous men who worked the Denniston Incline plus the Conns Creek rail head below AND the coal mines Up The Hill were some of New Zealand's toughest pioneers. Bless them all.

Thank god they put the road in lol and that is high enough :-)
