Marines with 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, complete Coxswain Skills Course at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, Calif., Jan. 28 - March 8, 2019. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Sgt. Devan K. Gowans)
1997-01 3rd battalion, 1st marines.. but weapons co. I was good friends with the guys from India company (our battalion's boat company). I trained with the 13th and 15th MEU's with these guys.
USMC have many landing craft. Advanced armor or basic rubber boats. They get the job done. They could make a log work if need be! Thanks for your hard work!!!
Look at us go! what a fun cold time. 13 hours was the worst one but its was fun trying to nock the A-Coxswain out of my boat as he was dozing off lol. 10/10 would do it again.
Nah, those are black Chuck Taylors. However, I can tell you why they wear them. I was told be some Recon Marines once that chuck tailors are the best swim booties on the market. They are less expensive than swim booties, the high top shoe stays on your foot and wont get carried away in the surf, the tread on the bottom still proctects the soles of your feet from coral and sharp rocks, and most important, they fit excellently inside a set of scuba fins. They pick the all black variety because its more tactical. Plus, when they dry, you have a great set of weightlifting shoes.
Great video on RU-vid, featuring US Marine Corps Combat Rubber Raiding Craft ( USMC CRRC) Coxswain's Course,an MOS - producing School, but, cm'on, the tunes are totally Bull Shit!! Semper Fi, otherwise!!🇺🇸🦅🗽🔪🗡️⚔️💣💥🔥💀☠️
@@Nica-Ra-Wata When I went thru, you didn't have a official title or ever as Marine Raiders but higher and the instructors did call of us that when they felt moto, grunts that were training to be marine raiders on a MEU if you would. That was before MARSOC started calling themselves Raiders, raider battalion etc... Force Recon has been dead for a very long time, surprised that gets thrown around to be honest. I don't think people even remember those guys anymore besides old salt dogs. Recon is recon, even then they threw a fit since MEUs uses paddles like them and as MARSOC does now. My coxswain shirt that I got from this course, does use the term Marine Raider on it besides having my last name on one side and coxswain on the other. Black shirt with all yellow writing. Old guys that were in Force Recon and now MARSOC have asked me about it, and the guys that were in back then are aware that the reason why before MARSOC, all shirts from boat companies given to grunts after finishing a course said Marine Raiders. It wasn't to be high speed or any of that nonsense, it was just a way to honor the original Marine Raiders of WWII. I could see why they might taken that out now, makes less confusion. Also because retards that don't know this might call it stolen valor if someone says they were part of a boat company that uses the words Marine Raiders the shirt they got from the course on it, but they aren't in MARSOC, or even part of ricky ticky diva battalions. Yes it also contains the same flag on the back.
