This was filmed back in March but just a ride to school on my Streetmate. I'll be uploading some more videos on the bike soon. Subscribe. I created this video with the RU-vid Video Editor ( / editor )
Dude that tomos automatic has some real restrictions , I can hear it by the sound , drill a biger hole in exhaust , biger airbox and biger canals on the intake and thing is gona go 75-80kmh , mine dose , and if you put 70cc kit on it and racing sprockets its gona go 85-90kmh
This was around the time when I first got it, I had to do a lot of work on the bike. There was no packing in the exhaust which is why it was so loud in the video, but I bought some to suppress the noise. It's running great now, I'm going to install a 70cc kit soon.
david cram I think in California anything over 150cc is considered a motorcycle but most mopeds I know available in New Jersey where I live are 50cc. I'd look up the laws if I were you. Best bet is to buy a bike that says 50cc on the papers with the purchase of the bike to be safe.
Sorry I’ve been inactive for a while, if you’re by chance still looking for one Craigslist, Facebook market place, letgo, etc would be good places to start
I bought a streetmate 2 weeks ago, but unfortunately I was kinda scammed because the seller told me it worked good and all and I believed him, but man, that thing has problems, it makes a weird sound, and a lot of things are broken on the bike. I'm lucky if it even rides. But I do gotta say it's a beautiful bike to look at
Not on the freeway, the max I could get out of the bike with a 70cc kit on was probably around 45mph. I was able to ride on smaller highways with it which speed limits were 40mph.
Hey don’t know if you still reply😂I’m looking into getting one of these I had a 2009 revival but it only did 25 does this one have the speed kit and if so about how much do those cost for these bikes
Hey sorry I’ve been inactive for a while lol, so this video had a 50cc a55 kit on it which is stock for this bike. I later added on a 70cc which made it a whole lot faster, however, I think it destroyed the transmission. If you live in a hilly area like myself a bigger sprocket would be a better option to climb hills if it’s flat go smaller. Hope that helps!
Awesome video. I'm thinking of getting a moped myself, and I was wondering if you could answer some questions I have 1. Can you still use the moped in NJ if you have a 70cc engine?(Moped manual says 50cc max) 2. Do you have pedals on the moped? I heard that the pedals are what make it legal. 3. Do you know any place in NJ where I can buy a good and reliable moped? Thanks!
Viole 1. In NJ anything over 50cc is considered a scooter/motorcycle. When I took my test I had a 50 on the bike but about a year later I switched to a 70cc. I doubt they would notice as long as the papers for the bike say 50cc. 2. In NJ all moped must have pedals on them, I doubt you'd be pulled over if you didn't but it's pretty hard to find them without pedals from what I've seen. 3. Maybe some dealers would sell the bikes at certain shops, they just brought back tomos this year in the US but they're pricey because they're new. I would look on Craigslist or eBay, just make sure everything is in running and working order before you purchase the bike, some people don't tell you all the details.
SummerDog No, when you turn 15 in NJ you're able to apply for a permit which is for practicing but you need to take the written test at motor vehicle, you "practice driving your bike" which basically allows you to drive on the road with it until night time and then after having it for 2 weeks or so you bring your bike to motor vehicle to take the moped test and it's just cone weaves, turning and stopping. If you pass you get a license which is titled moped drivers license "Class F", if you already have a drivers license you don't need to take the test you can just drive it I think. Any more questions, just ask.
oohh i see haha thankss ohh yea in my country you need a moped licence for everything that goes abot 25km/h(15mp/h) there is no such thing as permit hahaha well i have to ask do they still sell those streetmates? cause as i know they stopped making them(im from slovenia haha)
After i , I switched my 50cc out for a 70, for me it actually did really well up hill compared to my friends bikes now with the 70 it goes up a lot quicker
DojoOG yea I got a friend who has it it's pretty nice but not my style. It's one of those bikes to ride around and screw around on. Anymore questions just ask away.
???? ???? They went out of business here in the US a couple years back and just started up again this year with new models. They're great bikes but a pain sometimes.
Update I have a 08 street mate r big bore kit and everything pulls 50 - 53 mph on a good day have to replace the first and second gear clutch as well as the bell blew them to shreds no cork or anything left of them
