I have been watching a lot of your videos. They are highly informative. I will be coming to Nanaimo for School. Thank you so much Rita. Your videos really inspire me
It's a pretty dull drive, for an alternate and much nicer route, turn off in Ladysmith, just where the junction is for the Save on Foods, just south of town. Turn left then follow. the road round to the right and it will take you on the old road, which runs close to the coast. This will take you through Saltair, and then the road passes by the top of Chemainus and Crofton, making for easy access to the towns. If you stay on the road until you hit Herd Rd - and then turn left, the road will take you through Maple Bay, and then continue to Tzouhalem Rd and turn left - that way bypasses Duncan and takes you down through the estuary and Cowichan Bay - from Cowichan Bay, you can pretty much stay on the backroad until Mill Bay, much of it is very pretty, all of it avoids heavy traffic, towns and lights. It may not be quite as fast as the highway, but it feels just as quick, because its not tedious like the highway
