He's brilliant. I first saw him in the series called Unit One, "Rejseholdet", and ever since I've been hooked on anything he's in and all Danish dramas and films.
Revenge is defined as the act of committing a harmful action against a person in response to a grievance, be it real or perceived. Our hero in the movie took action based on facts. I think
Pusher is really good too and the green butchers, I dont know if any of these come with English subs but if you wanna see how mads got started that's a way to go :) happy watching
If you can stomach it, he's in a film called The Hunt, he plays a Kindergarten teacher who is falsely accused of being inappropriate to one of his students and the films about how all his friends turn against him.
Mads Mikkelsen is one of the most underrated actors of all time! His acting is spot on and he is one mean motor scooter. Valhalla Rising is the first film I've seen him in and been a fan ever since.
What do you mean 'underrated'? He has throughout his whole career made consistently good choices and been critically and financially successful. I don't think you know what 'underrated' means.
@@supertouring22 It's like someone is 'underrated' if they aren't blasted into our ears and eyes 24/7. I think I hear about Mads Mikkelsen at least once every other week. He is a VERY prolific actor.
@@benjaminjane93 Allow me to clarify. Underrated is when let's just say Mads Mikkelsen a man who is clearly at the top of his game, is not being cast for many projects he was linked to, I am a huge fan and is not used enough o m film today. So it's obvious that you haven't an iota of what you're talking about?.
@@gsurveil1 Obviously you're smoking something because you're wrong. It's obvious that you don't even have a clue of what the guy has been in, seeing as he has had several projects coming out one after the other for years. But please. Keep on digging that hole of ignorance of yours.
"It doesn't look like this is your first time killing someone..." "I used to work for some very bad people, I have accumulated a very unique set of skills." "You are Liam Neeson?!!" "I am Nobody".
@@spateri728 Ah, a lost art. I remember it from the old tales. Used to be mainly Americans with this "reading is hard" problem but it's spreading I fear.
Finally, a film that depicts ordinary people as both deadly threats and vigilante heros with hidden talents for murder and revenge. You don't see this every day in European clones of American revenge films. How f*ck*ng refreshing!
Just watched it. One of the best movies I saw in a long time and that means a lot coming from me. Wonderful acting not only by Mads but all actors involved. Don't know if it's a Danish thing but the comedic timing is perfect (there was more than one scene where I almost pissed myself). A great melting pot of opposite personalities, opposite beliefs, and understanding. I can't recommend this movie enough.
Anders Thomas Jensen is one of the greatest comedic directors out there. Adam's Apples, Flickering Lights and The Green Butchers are all masterpieces of dark comedy, featuring some of the best casts Denmark can muster.
If it's got Mads Mikkelsen in it, it's worth my time 100%. Polar is still one of the best films I've seen in the last 10 years. I watched "Nobody" last night & that will be another.
I see Mads Mikkelsen and I click without hesitation. And Nicholas Lie Kass is a really good actor too, like a lot the Department Q saga and his rol on Britannia
Mads Mikkelsen is simply brilliant! If you haven’t seen Polar, Arctic or Valhalla Rising (which is very underrated) DO IT NOW! He was also great in the series Hannibal
Even when Mads plays a tough guy, he still does scenes that require him to be emotionally vulnerable with utmost perfection. People don't call him a great actor for no reason.
Awwn 💝 thanks 😊 dear Allie and nice to meet you 💝 here is my hangout gmail liamneeson8642@gmail.com you can chat me up pravite there or you can send yours for me 💕
Funny how this movie is being promoted as an action movie, while in denmark it was promoted as a comedy. If you guys can find "Blinkende Lygter" with subtitles, you will learn that Mads has great comedic skills.
This is a dream come true, seeing these two icons who frequent the antagonist profile in action heroes, not only on in the same movie but in contrasting roles too. A must watch and am super keen to see it ❤❤❤
I have found myself becoming a fan of his more and more he is turning into one of the worlds greatest actors and I bet he becomes of of the greatest actors of all times.
The quality of scandinavian filmakers never stop surprising me. I can imagine this film being directed by M. Bay and starring L. Neeson. They would just make use of the generic 'vendetta' motiv. Here, I can feel the tension, and I feel the motiv is much deeper than any vengeance
It's a dark comedy with a revenge plot, and not an action movie as the trailer might suggest. The trailer released in Denmark when this came out was much more lighthearted, and the movie-director is known for his dark satirical movies often times starring Mads Mikkelsen.
@@MRLOLLAST123 Agreed. And considering the line up of that movie; Keira Knightley, Clive Owen, Joel Edgerton, Ray Stevenson and Ray Winston to name a few. Yah both actors stole that movie.
Been a huge fan of Mads since Pusher 2 and The Hunt. The man can literally play any part, and play it excellently. If he was American or British/Australian, he'd be offered every major role. It's a shame that he has to go back to Denmark for a part like this.
It's a shame he stars in a movie in his home country with some of his dear friends and long time collaborators? He has already done four other movies with Anders Thomas Jensen, Lasse Bro and Nikolaj Lie-Kaas. He obviously loves them, and the roles tend to be a lot better than what he's offered in Hollywood.
@@TheNinetySecond You are right, what I wrote sounded condescending, but that's not what I meant to say. What I mean is in Hollywood Madds gets offered a certain type of role, usually a villain, almost always in a supporting position, and it's a shame a guy with his talent and charisma doesn't get better offers. It's actually great that he can go to Denmark and make movies like The Hunt, Another Round and RFG, but I think that's often the case. Antonio Banderas for example is easily one of the best actors in the world, but lately the parts he gets offered in Hollywood have been awful. However back in Spain he gets to make a movie like Pain and Glory for Pedro Almadovar that earns him an Oscar nomination.
Mads has become a great action star as well as an accomplished actor! When he performed as Hannibal in the short time the series was on TV, his performance was bone chilling, possibly even more so than Hopkins. That's not just because of his cold and icy performance but his imposing presence and size, unlike Hopkins who is a much smaller man! I think that Mads will be following in the footsteps of and reminds me a lot of Liam Neeson!
It's been out for some time now. I saw it in the cinema back in October. Don't know if it's because I'm danish, and Corona was not that leathal in DK back then. Anyway, it's highly recommended guys.
Fun fact: Roland Møller - the actor who is the "Riders of Justice" gang leader, he also had 10 assault convictions and had served time for a total of four and a half years before he was released on parole, so I think he's incredible suited for this role.
@@rasmusandersen2007 no I haven't seen it yet and if I had,I definitely wouldn't spoil it for other people by telling them what happened..that would be mean and unfair..what I did was a just a fan theory..fan theories are just ideas and speculations about movies or shows..it's fun, people do it all the time...
