This and Tekken are the reasons why I asked for a PS1 for Christmas in 1996. Younger gamers might not appreciate it the same way, but at the time it was pretty mind-blowing to be able to play games with those kinds of graphics at home.
This was my first racing game ever. Never had the original ridge racer, and I never got into Gran Turismo until the PS2 so for a good few years if I wanted to race this was it. Guys playing it like a sim racer in this video though, not how it's meant to be played...
Ohhh shit I remember the days when I was a kid playing this game and also gt : final bout makes me cry and get back to time to play with this game again😥
Gott segne 0:58 seconds is my round record on novice track That was in 1996 when I played with my friends every day without a break. Everyone drove until they set a new record ... we were just crazy and young - today I am 40 years old and I have neither the console nor the game and unfortunately no time ... - but I will never forget it (this actually boring game compared to today's modern games) What was your record Are you still young, then enjoy life like we did back then! If you are out of this time then you know life is darn short! God bless
Use the R/T Souvalou car and shave even more off. I've done it myself. Can even go through these tracks w/o stepping off the gas and w/o brakes! (Well, other than Tekkens' Turn anyway. (The hairpin turn with Heihachis head shot on it))

@@deckofcards87: Basically, on the original PlayStation, you could take the game disc of Ridge Racer Revolution out and put in your own music CD to listen to your own music. However, you had to put the game disc back in during the loading screens so the game could finish loading. Now, when you put in your music CD, the CD tracks would play on the track number that you set it to, and it would play in the order of the track placement of the game disc. The drawback to doing this was that the music tracks wouldn't play correctly; they would always start at a certain part of the music track. The video footage might possibly be from an emulated version of the game, which is probably why the music is playing so well. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that you could do this with all of the Ridge Racer games on the OG PlayStation, including the updated, 60-fps version of Ridge Racer that came bundled in R4: Ridge Racer Type 4. Don't quote me on this, but I think you can do this while playing the OG PS1 RR games on your PS2 as well.
Three Novice, Intermediate (Advanced) and Extra well six including reverse also there’s two bonus ones (System link only) which are the two from the original Ridge Racer
