As a low voltage technician, I'm going to use this method but with the basket box instead, that way I have a portable desk/work bench for notes and prints and smaller tasks. Thank you for this video! 👍
Even better yet, one builder ran the milk crate add-on through his table saw several times (much easier than the jig saw) and ended up with a Ridgid flat cart on wheels as well as the chop saw mount. The name of the video is: "RIDGID PRO TOOL BOX IDEA" and his channel is called: Custom Design Nabelsi...
Great idea. I have a small painting and light carpentry business. I have purchased the rigid system over the course of this summer. This system is fantastic! These hack tip videos are great and really get my creative juice's flowing. I guess I'll have to make a video soon. Thanks
Thanks Brian, I have the Ridgid Boxes and this will work Great!! I already made one and it saves me from getting another stand out on small jobs Thanks!
Awesome, I love this!! I have plenty of extra boxes myself (a few that are broken actually so I can use the bottom of those) to make setups like this. Question, what are those adjustable stands you are using to hold up what you cut with the saw? I'm sure there's plenty options out there but those look like they work nice and have a large surface area on the top to hold larger pieces of wood and stuff. Thanks! PS now you have ideas running through my mind to mount various tools, radios etc to make things attachable to my Ridgid carts. I'm gonna end up finding things to mount to them just to do it...LOL
RIDGID makes a basket for this system that is a lot cheaper to whack off the bottom of. I use my two RIDGID toolbox stacks to hold my video, sound and grip gear.
Saw this video about a year ago excellent idea. I wanted to use it for my new Ridgid wet saw that doesn’t fit on the stand that my old Ridgid wet saw fit on. Another youtuber made a video cutting the bottom out the Ridgid egg crate container a lot more economical
looks like a great way to cut up £40 worth of useable box. could of just just made a plywood cover (upside down draw) that fits snug over the original box. that way it costs much less and doesnt destroy anything.
Kewl Tool mod !! This video was uploaded in 2018 ......I was wondering how this Tool modification is doing today in 2021 ? This would be a great mod for a budget toolbox like the 3piece Husky for $98 (cad). 3 piece Rigid toolbox ,around my parts is a bit expensive at 270$ (cad)
I have an idea that won’t destroy any boxes. Why don’t you just attach the plywood to the top of any of those boxes lids and you don’t have to destroy anything
This is a bad idea. To spend the money and destroy a good box when could just as easy built a self to clip onto the other boxes. You can do better than this.
Leonard Neal Thanks for your feedback, luckily the boxes didn’t cost me anything, (and I have plenty more) even if it did, I would still do it, it’s a great mod and it works well for us
