Ridgid K-400 sewer cleaner first time use, impressive! 

Same here. Very impressed. Bought it because a city-planted tree is starting to invade my house’s main sewer line with roots and blocking ALL house drainage. I have to snake about 60 feet to reach the clogs. I just installed the auto feed ($160 on Amazon) on the K400. which is super easy to do. It makes it very easy to shove 60 feet of line down a drain pipe. It was too much work for my old-man arms to push the line by hand that far. Like you, I found the cutter is best. I ordered another similar cutter and also a 1.25 special cutter with sharp blades. I have saved hundreds of $ in just the few weeks I’ve owned it and no longer have to worry about clogs at night or on weekends, when plumbers are hard to find and expensive. I can unclog any time of day or night.

Wrong size cable want 1/2 minimum for sewer also safety features of this model make it a poor choice for roots one of the easier models to get stuck which is why it states it's not for roots. If your lines backing up that often it's either has larger issues, was never fully cleaned or, is being misused(improper thing being flushed in this case getting it running is most likely causing issues in township lines)
