You hit the nail on the head! They are sturdy enough for what you need them to do. I don't care if they don't hold up to a 50 ft drop or a cinder block. They hold a lot of tools and in my case they travel extremely well on overseas projects. I've had my Rigids for 3 yrs and have held up well against TSA and luggage handlers in 13 countries. Maybe not as flashy as the reds and yellows but I'll stick with Rigid boxes.

Even four years after this review, it's still awesome. Norm is fantastic. I bought the RIdgid because I'm just a Do it yourselfer so mine is just rolling around the house. BTW, those orange cups are great. I don't have a lot of Ridgid gear but this tool system is one heck of a value.

love these boxes. Found they work really well for my needs I bungie cord my veto tool bag on the top and can work outside in the UK rain, snow and mud all day with no worries. Had mine over 3yrs they were branded JCB over here but now Magnusson, all my power tools are now in these boxes the main box comes with a insertable metal rod that secures and locks all the boxes.

How the heck did I miss this video. I love that system he has. I think I just might have the get one of these systems and trade in my bucket buddy. Nice setup NORM!!

Great video! I'm buying a set of Ridgid boxes. It's the milk crate that sold me on Ridgid! I needed a box to carry my soft sided tool bag. The crate will be perfect!

Good review guys I'm a plumber and I was at home depot last time and I was about to buy the ridgit packout look great for the price. Not like the Milwaukee that's over 100 dollars even though I love milwaukee.

Must've missed this when I was surfing around. I bought into the Ridgid system and I'm happy - sturdy and reasonably priced. Still not sure about the durability of those cart wheels though - but then, I don't abuse the crap out of my equipment like a lot of guys, er .. people, do.

Last Christmas I gave our son & son in law these sets.....Maybe this year, Santa will give me one...

I honestly didn't know about rigid having their own box lineup. Thanks for information and now I'm looking for a full kit because I broke my rack for the tough system.

I actually have the ridgid and dewalt toughsystem. I like them both, I like the nice features like compartments on lid of dewalt. That being said I'd bought rigid again for value but I got 4 tough system boxes and the cart for 125 on black friday deal. But the rigid can be had at 100 for three boxes on black Friday and Father's Day usually making a great value.

I have the Rigid system and some of the Dewalt tough system...ended up going completely to the Rigid system after breaking a latch on two of the Dewalts and I won't be purchasing any more of the Tough system! The only drawback of the Rigid boxes is the fairly limited options available! I would love to see Rigid release a few more box designs! Cheers

I got both the Ridgid and the Packout set ups (one residential and the other commercial) both are pretty awesome and beat the heck out of the “tough”system

There is a mental for that pulls out of the bottom box to connect all the boxes from opening and lock them together.

I have the rigid and the t stak they all serve a purpose but the wheeled rigid box needs side handles at lease a better grip under the latches would be a winner in my opinion..

Having used both the Ridgid and packout. The Milwaukee is better made, but the Ridgid is a very high quality box at a fraction of the price. I'd say the Ridgid is without a doubt the better value and the one I'd recommend.

I bought this case and let me tell you. It’s rigid enough to carry heavy tool. Mine are full with tools and I put on top a 60lbs Dewalt d24000 wet saw. Rigid tool box is very rigid.

Do a torture test on the Ridgid brand. I know Vince will say go DeWalt, but I am really curious if these will be neck and neck with the big brands. I have the first Ridgid job site radio that came out. It’s one tough case on that thing. If these boxes are anything like the durability of that radio, I may just get this set up. Plus Norm makes these cases look good!

In my middle box I have the ridgid gen 5x brushed combo kit hammer drill impact driver circular saw recip saw flashlight blades tape measure drill bits spade bits it is one rugged box

To bulky for up and down stairs..like the smaller Husky rolling soft box. Also the compartments keep your tools organized..

One additional locking mechanism that was overlooked in this video is the metal bracket across the top off the bottom box with wheels (can be seen at 2:32). This bracket slides out horizontally and sits in a slot through all your boxes and allows you to lock them all at once so one cannot simply be taken and walked off with.

Are the Milwaukee packout and the this set made by the same company?

Norm, you da man! I have both Rigid boxes and DeWalt Tough boxes and I have to say, I prefer my Rigid boxes over the DeWalt boxes. My only complaint is that Rigid does not have the options that DeWalt or Milwaukee packout has. They sell so fast that my local Depot can hardly keep up with the demand.

I have the DeWalt 450ds it's a cool box but its cheep can't over load it and you can only lift it from the top handle sides will snap off . I'm sticking with it cuz of my custom set up the way I like it . I hope DeWalt makes some improvements. It's not cheep and ridged is more cost efficient and sturdier and more points of contact for lifting the tool boxes I know this because my coworker has this box and I can make direct comparisons

After watching this I think I will be buying Rigid storage over Milwaukee and DeWalt

I have ALL the Dewalt Tough system, ALL the Dewalt Tstak and now ALL the Milwaukee Packout and love them all. But I do think these Rigid boxes are a bit under rated. I can't recall the price on them, but have handled them while at HD and they certainly seem nice quality.

Well. Milwaukee and rigid power tools are manufactured by TTI the. Ridgid modular case is. Ok it's. Not. Bad. Husky has one for $79

I found out it is better for me because it fit better in back of my pick up. Easier to lift . I use the top handle and the extension handle in down position . You use both hands to lift. Works way better. I used the bottom rolling one for just my cordless tools and battery charger, then the other tool box for other tools, smaller tool box for drill bits, and misc things. All are easily carried up stairs , then click together again and roll .. The pack out system I returned right away. >>> It was hard to slide in and out when loaded with weight . You are trying to slide in with weight, not to mention bulkier and harder to pick up . The rigid you have the top handle and the extension handle. You can use both hands to pick up close to your body. Sorry MILWAUKEE, Rigid works better...

This review is dead on. The ridgid box is every bit as good as the packout or tough system at a fraction of the cost.

DeWalt ToughSystem over those Rigid boxes all day everyday! During the Christmas sales DeWalt ToughSystem and those Rigid were the same price, what a joke!!
