Things these idiots don't know 1. Gallagher didn't become captain after James. Chilwell was the second captain but he was also injured. 2. 50m will help even after 1b spent. It actually covers 5 years of Caicedo in the book. 3.Galagher is important because Lavia is injured. He is inured , he is not dead when he is back Galagher most likely will be second choice and who pays 50 for him then 4.I am Chelsea fan since 1996 and I was okay club selling RLC , Abraham, Odoi and Mount , if anything they sold them late in my opinion. I even said at the beginning of season Chelsea should sell James to Real Madrid , he is always injured. 5. Christensen was not sold , he didn't extend his contract Where talksport find these idiots. I think whole thing is just created by media as everyone probably knows that, if Chelsea wants to create income they have to sell Academy player(s) and at the moment Gallagher is only one is probably worth something, if we think about players that could bring in 50M+ or so, but it also makes very little sense while looking at how often he is played in Chelsea starting-11. Not sure how realistic talks there really is with getting Osimhen, but I doubt he would be for sale during January, maybe during summer.

I don’t want him to be sold but the fact he is not only a starter but also the captain is a sad indictment of how far Chelsea have fallen. He works hard and battles for the team but he’s also very clumsy and not particularly creative. He should be a rotational player if the likes of caicedo, enzo and lavia play to their potential.

@@Graziak5 they are some players that are not world class or top tier that start in world class teams, they put their heart and soul in every game and DESERVE to start. Currently Gallagher has been one of the best players and is deserving of his role. Until proven otherwise he should start and the likes of caicedo, enzo and lavia have to do better to get into the 11.

Don't mix Mount's case with Gallagher. Mount was offered a contract worth 200K+ a weak but he rejected it because of his arrogance and "advice" from his clueless dad. He wanted assurance about playing important role at Chelsea and playing (i.e. make me captain) and Poch/Club didn't want to assure him or anyone for that matter anything. Gallagher on the other hand has become a whole new player this season. He has upped his game, he doesn't make a fuss about anything, no noise whatsoever yet hasn't been provided an offer. Mount can enjoy TikToking at United while always being injured, we don't need him.

Forest didn’t play great against us. You played decent to good at times and we (Newcastle) played terrible. Also we have had to play every 3 days from October through to the end of December with only using 11-13 players per match. Don’t get yourself worked up over it fella, Forest were by far the better team on the day but everybody knows how bad and the reasons why we are bad hence why you can’t over hype your win.

Hi, hmm I kind of see what you are saying as we are trying to progress further as a club with more technical players (ie Paqueta, Bowen, Kudus, etc.). However, I do believe he would be more effective in midfield instead of Soucek. I still want us to keep Soucek, but I believe Gallagher is the better passer, tackler, can score goals as well and provides more energy. Just my own opinion.

@@maglev469 Hi, mag. Yeah, It seems that David Moyes definitely rates him. If we happen to lose Fornals, Coventry, and Downes doesn't come back, then we could do with a good midfielder like Gallagher. The midfield is ineffective whenever Alvarez is removed out of the picture.

The guy has been working his self off like crazy to stay. I'm not comfortable of him going to Spurs at all; hopefully WHU if possible. CG doesn't seem like a lad to want Tott'ham. We'll see. Something's weird about this. Lets hope it's just transfer talk to drive social media & he gets proper contract. Hopefully he stays at Stamford Bridge. Cheerio!

I understand people wanting to move on from Gallagher but clearly he is important to Pochettino’s side, he’s been made captain, and been playing more than well enough to back it up… You and I both know the board is not bringing in anyone better than Gallagher as a replacement unless you’re waiting until 2032 for the next CR7 to develop. Most of the academy products Sam mentioned (Abraham, Hudson-Odoi, Mount, Loftus-Cheek) that have moved on simply weren't good enough - I would love to have a squad of academy graduates, but if they aren't at the level then move them on - all the talk in the summer was about Mount and now the sporting directors look like geniuses for shifting him off and saving the money

He’s not signing the contract offer same as Maatsen. Tami was demanding ridiculous demands mount refused to sign the contract and he is now a 250k a week player who has been a flop for Utd. Christiansen left on a free transfer and had nothing to do with the new owners. RLC would not have been offered the same deal he was on and Hudsen odi signed a contract with Chelsea and didn’t even bother to take the opportunity when he was given the chance. When you have the likes of Sarr earning more money than the majority of first team players and the owners have been responsible for the reduced wages and now have a wage cap. The reason why they are the 4th highest wages and a 100 million less a year than Utd. They don’t allow players to run down contract and leave on a free which makes sense to anyone who has a brain.

The other thing is Chelsea’s got a lot of talent in his position to make a big impact when they are finally fit and ready to play in the future. Latvia Is going to be a big player and we have a young player who is very talented in Matos who is being compared to Patrick Veria. We’ve also got Casadei and Santos who can be world class. So Gallagher has a decision to make in his career.

You are ‘limited’ with your football knowledge. If you take Gallagher’s stats and percentile results and if you are watching his games you can clearly see his ability on the ball, his passing combined with driving engine with the longest mileage of many midfielders and rates with the top 10% players out if 356 PL players. You might not like Gallagher or are simply a Chelsea hater I think you can see you are out of depth with this post. Stick to netball!

Good point, many cobham players are gone. I loved Tammy thought he was great for his age and ability. Loosing AC was a gigantic blow for us, i still dont really know what happened, because he was playing something like 85% of all games. Maybe he felt that it was time to move on and Barca are of course one of the biggest most historic clubs in the world. Rudiger was also a blow, but AC was such a speciel talent and had been so great for us. He is definitely one of the most succesfull academy turnovers in cobhams history. Keep Gallagher - no he is not necessarily a world class player - but he plays with power and desire and puts up areal fight for the badge. We fans love him, maybe not as our captain but i think he should be allowed to stay, id love to see him be part of the rebuild and for him to have a role in a better functioning side in the future.

Exactly - the narrative about "Boehly loves selling academy players for FFP reasons" breaks down when you consider Colwill and Reece - if the quality is there, the owners will sign the player to a contract - Gallagher is nowhere near top-level so it makes sense to consider selling to help with FFP

As a Chelsea fan. He’s bang average. There are tons of Gallaghers in the championship. Media just butt hurt because he’s English. Look at their record, mid table. Headless chicken and a yellow card merchant. Out of the club

Chelsea fan of 30 years, he's an absolute liability on the ball, he gives the ball away far too often and has zero composure, he gets caught in possession countless times per game, yes he wins the ball back more than anyone else, but thats because he lost it in the first place.

Thank you! I’ve also supported Chelsea for a similar length of time and am Chelsea through and through, but I don’t know what the big deal is about Gallagher, he offers absolutely nothing in possession, shocking on the ball, trips over his own feet, unaware of what’s around him when he receives the ball, constantly playing 1-2’s with the centre backs. He just isn’t good enough, and I’d take for £50m off spurs in a heartbeat

If Lavia, Enzo and Caicedo are all fit does he get in the team? Is he worth anywhere near 50 million entering last year of his contract? Take your emotion out of it, the guy is an average player.

Caicedo isn’t half the player Gallagher is. The management have NO idea what they’re doing. The amount of money played for an AVERAGE player like Caicedo is proof of that.

Conor is part of mediocre players we have. Without injuries we only have 4 players James and Chilwell and obviously Nkunku and maybe Lavia the rest are clowns

All this has to do with Boehly's moronic 8 year contracts, Gallagher's contract is up in 18 months and he doesn't want to sign for that long and you can't blame him..However although Conor has been one of Chelsea best player this season and i would keep him for now i still don't see him as being anything special long term.
