Yeah there is one thing I sent him that didn’t get added to this episode. Hopefully the next one. And if he contacted the person for an explanation it would be perfect. It’s a home made Nintendo aby pedal that the listing admits was a terrible mod job and he asks that anyone who buys it be close to him so he can be close by to repair it. He wants like 824 thousand dollars for it.
The Devil Girl bodies are molded plastic so aside from the original mold there isn't really craftsmanship. They've been around that price for like 10 years now.
No they have been selling for $1800-2300, not $3000. also they are a bitch to play due to the unorthodox body which is why they don't really go for that much, its a wall hanger or one of those play once every 3 year guitars.
I was going to say, I don't think there was much CRAFTSMANSHIP involved... Isn't the guitar just molded plastic? I mean, I could probably design a CAD mould to make one of those myself! Now, if it was hand-carved WOOD, then I'd be a BIT more impressed. lol
@@StreetPreacherr Its technically what is called Composite, I never sliced open one of ESP/LTDs sculpture guitars, however I will tell you if it was merely plastic they would have to have brass ferrules that are tapped to attach any hardware otherwise the screw/bolt would just strip out immediately making the guitar fall apart.....I did not see any, also they are decently light so its not like dense plastics are used otherwise it would feel like an acrylic guitar, which is heavy.
hey fluff, that devil girl "ESP" can be bought on AliExpress anytime. the ESP was a custom shop and had schaller locking tuners and the EMG faunt was in red. this one has cheap hardware and a sealed humbucker(not EMG) the pots are the dime sized mini-pots(unbranded) and the body is some molded composite material.
I had an ecstatic moment of bliss when the Mosrite appeared. I felt my soul leave my weak, corporeal body and achieve true peace, enlightenment and the need to plug it into a Marshall Super Lead. I awoke several hours later, in a daze.
I worked for Yahoo around 1999-2000. As an employee at their Santa Clara office, you could have your car "wrapped" in a similar finish to that guitar and I think they gave you a bonus. There were maybe two or three clunkers in the car park that had been covered that way.
That last one looked kind of cool until you zoomed in on it. The pickup routing was bad, but the body is friggin' atrocious. Also glad to see the baseball thing make a comeback in the last couple of episodes.
My dad played guitar in his church band. He started asking to borrow my Tom delong strat because the thing was the perfect guitar. That got him some nasty looks from old people who think only organ or piano is acceptable. Personally I think all worship is gross though.
@@MisterRorschach90 sadly, I agree. the chutch has become a money grab, its all about the money....the only thing I got from the wrship band was " learning how to play" the set would change on a whim, and that was a learning experience
@@MisterRorschach90 even sadder is those old people (people who have been church going for a long time) are responsible for the way the church is now. It has become like the other guys said about the money and in some cases very politically driven. I never understood the “Gods music can only be acoustic with this and that) it is not biblical from what I have seen. You’d think it would mean more to God if it was what you put your heart and soul into and not something the blue hairs approve of. 🤷♂️
I remember when those devil girl guitars came out and were in guitar world ads. ESP always does crazy sculptured guitars, usually for japan, and they're always super expensive. price seems reasonable for what it is. also it's hilarious that mosrites are so expensive, johnny played them because they were cheap and you could walk into a pawn shop and get them for nothing.
Yeah but they are only worth something to a collector, not really players, they are not fun to play and they end up hanging on the wall, I have seen them actually selling for $1800-$2300, people always list them for $3000 but they never get that amount or they end up sitting because guitar community is delusional.
I have ESP LTD M10 super Strat all gloss black. with a Floyd Rose humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions. three position switch, one volume, one tone, no pickguard, twenty four fret neck with a reverse pointy Jackson style headstock, and Ghoto tuners. it's a pretty decent guitar and I like it but it's not like the one pictured in this video.
The Joker guitar is from my local guitar shop. I was kind of wondering if they'd ever get on the show. It's a great shop, but they cater to a clientele that seems to have more money than sense. Also, they have some kind of deal with PRS. They sell NAMM models and one offs from them all the time, and Paul Reed Smith has been there for meet and greets on a number of occasions.
Greetings from Florida Fluff. Congrats on the Bear Tooth tour. I must say that the ESP LTD DGR guitar if given to a painter could turn that body into a real work of art. ESP/LTD's QC is pretty on point too which should lead to a pretty amazing instrument. What do you think?
I think the Yahoo thing should be in some kind of "cultural museum" I dunno, shouldn't really be anything more than some kind of weird niche sculpture haha
looks like the last "custom" guitar had a body more suited to being a lefty given the cut for the upper frets.. kind of a cool shape if you were wanting to start up a "ultra super metal" band in 1998.. but it'd have to be acrylic.. jesus..
I've seen that one, not in person but in some very detailed photos. It was hand carved, beautifully done. Not my cup of tea but still an incredible piece for sure
Ngl, I usually dislike pointy guitars, but I do dig the concept of that last listing, even if the execution was horrid. Throw that idea at a luthier who knows what they're doing, and maybe you could get something actually worth the 4 figures you'd likely be charged for it.
I may or may not have brought an ESP namm brochure into art class with said devil girl guitar as inspiration for my collage in middle school.....for research purposes
I bought my 1961 gibson les paul junior from the seller who was selling the yahoo explorer. Kinda wild to see that kind of guitar from that seller. Great guy to buy from tho
1. composite guitar = we molded them out of recycled katana chassis 2. If it were an AOL or maybe even MySpace guitar I would TOTALLY still not play it 3. grab that whammer berrrrrr *boinging noises* 4. someone saw "quad cortex" in their smartphone description and actually made the connection - that person, while a scammer, figured something out that literally nobody else in the music industry has caught on to yet, because if they did, there would literally be a stompbox running on Android 5. Everybody scrapbook! 6. screw that guy 7. this keeps coming up, like a bad burrito 8. klingon guitar brings crowdkill to new levels; please buy our personal defense instrument
That guitar has been on Reverb for about a year at that price. The issue is that particular model was made for less than a year, and nobody can agree on how many were made. Somewhere between 20-150. Sometime in the last few years, collectors decided they could jack the price up.
Regarding the last guitar - its hand made so I get someone being proud of their work. That said, the guy who plays that better be a lefty or not into soloing because the high fret access if BAD
