I think the T3 and the LeMans are up there with the finest ever motorcycles ever built. I had the T3 from 1978. Loved everthing about it (after it was waterproofed).
We do over plan trips (or anything really) way too much now. Could be something about not having enough time and trying to fit as much into that limited time span. Or allowing yourself to get drawn into the notion that you couldn`t possibly do it without specific gear, sold by specific advertisers. The way people travelled in the past was so spiritic. Everyday was an adventure because they had know idea what was around the corner. Money was limited, bikes were what ever you had just like the gear you took. They ventured into the unknown, because generally, no one had done what they were mad enough to do, eg. Helge Pedderson riding the Darien Gap! Everything has been done know. I admire these early motorcycling adventurers. Pioneers of true adventure motorcycling.
The book is a great read. Hopeful book 2 coming with an update on the final dekayed leg to Australia. Complete respect to his philosophy. Safe, happy travels 👍
Fantastic stories on your channel but the background music makes it hard to hear the interesting people. I am more into people speak and sound of motors.
Chris. If you are still in Australia in May there is a Moto Guzzi rally in Southern Queensland from the 19th to the 21st if you are interested. It is called the ruptured budgie rally and it is being held by the Queensland Moto Guzzi club. All motorbikes are welcome.
I still have my 1985 Moto Guzzi - I have zigzagged Europe with that. The feeling of getting on your old bike and go is unbeatable. I will never sell it.
Going halfway around the world on what most would consider totally unsuitable bike for the job is mental!! However, the Tonti framed Guzzis are rugged, beautiful ( ok I have a T3 California), and perhaps not so unsuitable
Hello Chris, I have your book and met you briefly in Mandello at the 100 year celebration during your trip to Australia. Good to see that you succeeded! What a bike and what an adventure. 🙂
Think i already commented - maybe on Instagram, but Chris's book " Going The Wrong Way ' is not to be missed. After reading it I passed it onto my Kiwi mate locally here in Las Vegas who then mailed it off to his brother down in Australia ! My mate rides a V7 Sport and his brother i believe rides a LeMans ( could be wrong on that one.. ). I also picked up a additional copy and mailed it onto my good biker friend over in New Mexico !! NOW...Where do i get my hands on that T-shirt that Chris is wearing here in the video.!!??
Very well done ! Possible to travel with every kind of motorbike. And as a LM owner I really love your story . Hope to get the book when I am back in Germany. Greetings from Cambodia .
@@BikerTorque It's a good story ... it just proves that if you aspire to anything, it doesn't matter how long it takes to achieve because in many years down the track we seem to appreciate things even more.
How many kms has his bike done I wonder, wasn't mentioned? That Guzzi sounds like it's got some stories to tell, amazing it still runs. I have a Norge 1200 that is a dream to ride.
Can you do a Review on the Moto Guzzi V85tt please ( and maybe 🤔 from an owner - like me 😂😂😂, or someone else ( a lot of the reviews at not in English ) LONG TERM OWNERS REVIEWS ARE GOLD , that’s what sells bikes and makes a good 👍 story .I reckon your show is fantastic.
Would love to review a V855TT if Motoguzzi in Australia had one available for us. If you are around Sydney, happy to do a story with you so you can tell the world about yours.
Hay mate I’m Australian and live in Wodonga Vic “ probably the best riding in Australia “ I just brought a V85tt Moto Guzzi, your welcome at my place anytime mate 👍
@@BikerTorque , sorry for the misunderstanding, you more than welcome to come down for a ride and will show you guys on some off the best roads around here ( I used to own a motorcycle Hire and tour company ) . What I was meaning is that I know when you travel overseas for long periods of time finding a place to stay can be difficult and expensive on your. trip . I assumed you guys lived in Australia not an issue. I do lead a lot of rides in my area .
Come back to Australia mate , but m from Australia, I ride a V85tt and are basically retired . I would show you around places in AUS you haven’t seen mate 👍
@@BikerTorque Love it , a fantastic bike , great 👍 for touring, 400+ km tank range , simple Guzzi air cooled engine and shaft drive , comfortable and a big plus cruise control.
I see you changed the handlebars to higher ones. As I get into my sixties, I did same on mine as the “race” position is no longer suitable for travel 😊
@@BikerTorque yes i find any bike adventure very interesting i have a 1250gsa and i am doing a week around germany and austria departing friday via hull.
