Riding Bean | KYOTO VIDEO 

In defence of the "bullet to the head" thing, its established in the gunsmith cats manga that Bean's headband is a plate of armour. Naturally the force of the bullet messes him up a little, after all, he is only (super)human.

"Riding Bean" is an all-time classic anime. Love it and the soundtrack. I also have all of the Gunsmith Cats manga series and anime, so yeah, I adore the film and its crazy universe of characters.

I can perfectly imagine a Riding Bean anime. It would be like City Hunter, but you replace Ryo's horniness with rage and his impossible gun skills with impossible driving skills. It would be great!

4:56 OMG YES! Zenigata is EXACTLY who I thought of when this guy is introduced! His voice, mannerisms, and character dynamic to Bean are IDENTICAL to that of Lupin and Zenigata!

For those new, every scene in the anime was based on a real place in Chicago EXCEPT the "drove in diner". Also,everything Bean's car can do,is mechanically possible,except the "spinning blades/throw it in reverse emergency brake". These are things I learned from the liner notes which came with the anime.

Pretty much sums it up. The OVA had a lot of heart. Hopefully Kenichi's new RB work paves the way for more or a GSC anime. I always thought Bean's English dub voice resembled Charlie Sheen, so one could say that that enhances the vintage quality to it.

My college roommate introduced me to anime through this OVA. A local shop had the soundtrack on CD and he was so pumped when he bought it.

I watched the dub of this on RU-vid this morning and had a blast! Super fun and over the top, and just like your video says, it left me wanting more.

Just last week found this channel because for some lucky reason this popped up. I'm a soli GSC fan, have all the 9 volumes in the omnibus(over 2 series), have the Riding Bean DVD, and I also last year got the GSC bulletproof dvd on a sweet deal to round on the OVAs too. Such a fantastic series, every bit of it keeps your interest and it's one of those few that are infinitely rewatchable without getting bored.

Severely underrated series. Watched them all, keep em coming!

I like that scene where they get shot at through a window, Rally hides behind a wall, Semmerling gets shot, and Bean just sits there. You can tell that he's too cool to get shot. :D

Hmmm I could be wrong in this but I believe beans car is based of a 90’s Toyota Celica. So glad I found this channel. I grew up watching so many of these old school anime and I love the excellent retrospectives on each one. Great job

I have always wondered if Gunsmith Cats and Bean Bandit aren't secretly a precursor to North American side of the Bubblegum Crisis universe and Bean is actually a prototype Boomer similar to Largo/Mason and his rules are a nod to Asimov's Laws.

I remember this on laserdisc. I never watched it in the 90s, and after this video I now regret not ever watching it. If I find it on Blu-ray, I will have atoned for my sins.

This is a fun ova, just watched it on RU-vid. I think making the villian a child grooming molester was maybe a little too much for such a light-hearted ova. I'm glad there's nothing like that in the Gunsmith Cats ova

I feel the dub fits because dubs in the 80s had dubs like this.

I bought the Riding Bean VHS in 1998 or 1999, and it is definitely one of my favorite Anime still up to this day, too bad I don't have a VHS player, but the VHS had an audio problem anyway.

I keep wanting to call this Mighty Bean

Just saw this last night, thought it was pretty awesome though is Bean a cyborg? Considering he took the headshot, a car being crashed into him and stop a car he can't simply be a normal guy.

I am sorry, but the fact of Bean's indestructability for me does no good for compassion for him. Also it brakes the script, cause villain knew about Bean's powers but still tryed to fire at him with a handgun... (she had a line explaining her investigating Bean before the operation)

The dub of writing being was produced in 1993 not 2003. And it really was, of that 1993 quality of crap tacular.
