Black Bear Pass: The MOVIE!
Black Bear Pass is best experienced on TWO WHEELS, however, it's not for riders that are afraid of rock steps, steep cliffs, and shelf roads littered with rocks. Because I was riding solo, I rode with extra care and caution, especially when descending the stair case section just above the waterfall.
My first two trips over Black Bear Pass were a in my 2004 Jeep TJ Rubicon, in 2009 and 2010. In 2010 I also had my DR-Z400S with me during my Colorado vacation. The DRZ was useless at the high elevations in Colorado because I didn't re-jet the carb to accommodate for the high elevations. I attempted to ride it one day and it was a failure, so I parked it and stuck to my Jeep for my exploring.
I FINALLY bought another fuel injected bike with the bucket list idea of taking it to Colorado. Black Bear Pass was my first ride of this week long vacation to Silverton, CO
