In this episode on Tekniq, We will observe some unique forms of passenger transport using motorcycles and makeshift wooden trolleys and karts with appropriate engines.
Necessity and poverty give way to creative ideas. I know many Filipinos here in the USA, they are humble, grateful people and always with a smile, may God bless them👏
I have been riding motorcycles for many years, but my fellow American bikers and motorcyclists will never know what a simple motorcycle means to most of the world outside of the developed countries. Motorcycles in these countries are true workhorse vehicles that are vital and necessary to the lives of the people of those regions. Much respect to these people.
In Uganda every house hold has a bike. Once someone offered to buy a car for me I refused I instead suggested they me a yamaha crux motorcycle. I use less fuel to ferry food from the garden its my main source of transportation
The skill of the driver can't be overstated, but the 'teamwork' of the riders is something to respect also, something learned from longtime experience...Making maximum use of what you have... I love how the railroad tracks are part of the public road system for ALL to use.
The villages seems to not connected by tar roads. Therefore citizens may be using such local made transporting vehicles. Using rail track is no doubt dangerous but govt.has to built roads for people's conveyance. Due to nonavailabilty of sofisticated vehicles, citizens seems to be using such locally invented transporting vehicles.
I have nothing but respect for those people. They really make it happen. They find a way to survival. Here in the West we take things for granted and too many of us don't even appreciate it.
We all know these type of transportation are not safe. However, both the driver as well as passengers are fully aware of the Risk they are taking. The motorcycle driver need the money to feed his family. The poor people living in the village needed inexpensive transportation. If we are born in those nations with little education, we would have done exactly the same. He would rather put on a suit and tie and work as a high paying corporate attorney but this is the best he could do for the time being and hopefully if he raise his kids well they do not have to do what the father had to do. I admire his hard work and determination.
@@ctmdrivetest789 just because one has money, or higher education does not mean you are a better person. I have personally met arrogant Attorneys and physicians that treat clients and patients rudely. Look at Trump. A by product of ISIS fucking the Buffalo in the Ass. Your Ass in this case, needs a good Rimming. Enjoy.
As already mentioned, necessity is the mother of all invention. I'm a retired US military FilAm living here in the Philippines and I've seen it all loaded on a motorcycle from another motorcycle, 16 sacks of charcoal to a cow (I'm not joking either) I've seen it all. These morcycles named by the locals as "sky lab" and mostly used in the southern island Mindanao. These are small displacements engines mostly around 150cc or smaller yet they are loaded very heavy. The driven and driver sprockets are changed for gear reduction for more torque to pull them heavy loads up the hills. Unbelievable what human ingenuity and commitment to get things done with what they have available can come up with.
One night coming back from town, I tipped my '84 old beater Goldwing over while stopping at the mail box, when I put my foot out on loose gravel. I had a 50 pound bag of dog food, and a 10 gallon filled propane tank, plus the panniers full of groceries on board. I could not pick that sucker up, but 30 seconds later a local rancher stopped and between the two of us it was upright again. Then the rancher, right before he left, asked me if I ever thought of getting a pickup truck. I told him I had a 1 ton at home, but only use that for big loads, we both laughed.
I've been to the Philippines a couple times... And I've seen scooters loaded with people... Bags of rice... Boxes of groceries.... Construction material Filipinos are very innovative... And very smart if there's a will there's a way They will figure it out
@@martinsims1273 There's one reason: Because they are very unsafe. And the UK has standards to protect their people. In the Philippines....not so much. You have to use common sense.
That was such an awesome video. Thanks you for making it and posting it. I hope it gets 10 million views! One of my best friends went to Philippines to share Jesus with the villages and the stories he brought back are incredible.
I love it there so much! The people, culture, music , food and scenery are all truly wonderful!!!!! They are so happy with so little! Something to learn from that!
The countryside is so beautiful in the PHilippines, lush ,green and wild coconut palm jungle everywhere, green rice paddies every now and then sprinkled with a water buffalo or a waterfall, so beautiful to look at.
I think the side seats should be lower to the ground. If the driver looses balance and tilting the bike, the person seating on the side seat can prop/drag their leg down to keep the bike from tipping over.
This is incredible, some people do acrobatics for entertainment and in here people do acrobatics on their daily lives. Also interesting that in most western countries it is mandatory to wear a helmet in a motorcycle (and in a few even in a bicycle) and here helmets are almost never seen. Definitely the notion of risk is not the same everywhere in the world.
Most people who are living in provinces of the philippines are striving hard to survived ...they are so deligent people.. whereas as some people who are living in big cities were begging food and money on the street just bcuz of their laziness.
We have to realise how lucky we are to have what we have in the West, etc.. These guys surely know the train timetables to risk it.Also, the locomotive drivers will be alert? To the track users.
They have no TÜF but good Ideas. They would never have the money to have a work-free Life in Germany and I think they also wouldn't want it. My respect!
Pag pag restaurants, motorcycles bus, cemetery village, slum village... Philippines 🇵🇭 #1 Phillipino people are kind_hearted and lovely... Please, God bless & save Phillipino 🙏
I have been to the Philippines two times but I didn’t see this ingenious motor cycle with multiple passengers on each side. I didn’t see it also in other Asian countries. It can easily be out of balance when one side is heavier than the other or the driver knocked one side against something. The passengers must get on on both sides at the same time. No obese passenger allowed on this motor cycle, that’s for sure.
I am amazed they can do it. Those people are more than he could lift, but he has to balance them anyway. When I was young, I once strapped a new car battery to the back of my mountain bike and rode it home. It was manageable, but you could feel how top heavy the bike became. Like it could tip over really easy if you weren't careful. I could not imagine trying to balance six people like that who each weigh different.
@@georgeb1364Yes but they didn't correct anything yet. I actually asked if they could design this with a lower center of gravity for the passengers. That's the thing that makes it the most unsafe I would think.
The unique transportation.. The railway line transport is amazing. But how do they cross when other fans come from the other direction. It is not possible to carry the cart as seen here. Not every time she can move away her cart and let go her fans... Quite impossible.. 🤠
In my country Sarawwk Malaysia passenger only pay RM1.00 for the bus from the city to rural town about 66 km meanwhile the hydrogen bus is free in the city...all the fare is subsidized by the Sarawak Government
Only reason United States can have extensive roadways is because it's a rich nation. When you really think about it trains are the most probably cost effective form of travel. When it comes to mass transit at least.
In high density populated areas yes. Not so in suburban environment. It would take forever to get from point a to point b with too many stops. Time is money. These people have more time than money and also too much cheap, unskilled labor. They are forever stuck in that rut because they are largely uneducated and will NEVER make the transition.
Admire their guts and talent to earn a living but too risky a job. Suggest that they use the motor cycle to pull a carriage for four seaters. Maybe a motorise trishaw.
Nunca tinha visto isso na minha vida! Eles adaptaram as motocicletas por falta de meios de transporte. É melhor que andar a pé por longas distâncias! 🤔🤔
I have been to the philippines dozens of times you wont see police breathalizers police radars roadworthys and posted speed limits you will see motorbikes carrying seven/ eight persons mainly not wearing helmets in some areas this is all opposite to here in australia
