In Russia everything is big. It is the opposite of most of Europe. A very interesting ride, I mean the whole Episode. You are right about the food where there are a lot of trucks and cars. There for sure it is tasty and cheap. :) Thanks for the history lesson there. Yesterday I started uploading my "Trip to Romania Series". When you have time you can check it. Cheers.

Excellent report. It looks a lot like Canada. It reminds me of crossing the Canadian plains which takes a few days. Long straight roads and the feeling of the sudden change in temperature of air masses. In the evening, on the plains, you can see many stars 360 degrees. Wow, Russia is a very beautiful country. Thank you so much

I’ve lived in the U.K. All my life , nearly sixty years, I’ve been made to believe Russia is a terrible place, poor people and a very low standard of living. I believe you can tell a lot about a country by the state of the roads. Your video showed them to be mostly in good condition and the cars in general quite new. Yes some of the hotel accommodation was quite basic, but I would have taken that option on such a long trip to keep costs down. I’m sure higher quality hotels were available at increased cost. Back in the U.K. our roads are in such terrible condition my car suspension needs expensive repairs every year. I don’t drive my car unless I absolutely have to. I ride my CB500X whenever I can because it’s suspension deals with our broken roads so much better. Your videos in Russia have become quite an education, thank you for that and I look forward to future episodes ✌🏻🇬🇧

That's funny, because here in Russia a lot of people really jealous about European road quality. I traveled this year from Moscow to Saint Petersburg and got on a such shitty road, I was amaized just how it can exist nowadays. But anyway our roads are getting really better, from year to year, and as a traveler I notice and like this tendency.

Several regions do amazing work repairing their roads in last few years. This year i've changed my bike from road to adventure only to find out that bumpy roads which i usually ride became smooth highways))) And looks like the road to Shiryaevo is one of them. Last time i've been there in 2018, the road was quite bumpy. I glad that is repaired too)

@@dmitrii710 To find a shitty road on the way from Moscow to St. Petersburg, you need to try to look for it very specifically!))) There are two roads leading to St. Petersburg - free (it is of quite good quality and has been repaired many times, its disadvantages are speed limits, many settlements, high traffic, many CCTV cameras and there are areas where traffic jams form - the Vyshny Volochek city area) and there is a toll road (there are no all the disadvantages of a free road, only pay and go ahead, I've been preferring it for a long time, it's a great option). Don't thank me!))))

Greeting from Athens! Man, you're awesome to make this trip possible! Always wanted to do the same thing, but as for the present day I've manage to get myself only till Baikal lake, unfortunately by car, my bike stayed in Greece. The funny this is that we were at the same time in Russia, travelling the same roads! I was passing by Toliati to Ufa and then to Ekaterinburg and Novosibirsk, with the final destination in Barnaul, Altay Krai.

Good vid Pavlin. People need to understand and accept the situation at hand. If you want to go the distance you have to do the distance. It's a fundamental part of the travel equation. Glad to see your vids of this. Given the political climate it is most likely a place I will never be able to go in the remainder of my life. I have several rider friends there which I would like to meet on their home soal. But it won't happen. Russia is a country of about 9 time zones. I generally deal with five or six unless I go on to the Arctic. Some would say there are areas of nothing but I always keep an open eye for what's before me. People live there everyday and have a life much as us. Make what you can out of it until an area of interest is found and enjoy the ride whatever it is.

I got a real kick out of the fact that you found in an expensive room in the middle of Russia and the number on the room was number eight. #8 I use this number since I’m number eight out of 10 kids. I knew Russia was extremely expensive but you shut a whole new light on it. Thank you.

I used to live in Siberia... and with those distances I was hardly able to keep myself within the speed limit zone... Many times in the middle of the night it was like "pedal on metal" driving. Fortunately my car back then wasn't able to go faster than 160 km/h :)

14:10 it's funny, you made a number of road traffic 'violations' - considered as such in western Europe, but this is normal in South East Asia where I live - and apparently also in Russia: overtaking on the wrong side of traffic, going through a blinking light at a rail crossing, passing stopped cars from the left lane and thereby going across the divider white line (this is sanctioned with a hefty fine in most western European countries), riding on the shoulder/emergency lane of the road, etc., all of this is ok in Russia? I am going to like Russia whenever I can ride there! In South East Asia where I live as an expat, this and a number of other 'unruly' behaviours on the road are considered absolutely normal.
@diAx007
@diAx007 8 месяцев назад
In Russia, many minor violations are considered acceptable, but not all of them. For example, crossing a railway line when it is red is punishable by deprivation of your driver's license for 4-6 months, similarly, driving into the oncoming lane through a solid line. They look at this very strictly. Riding on the shoulder or side lane, especially for motorcyclists, is a much less serious offense, for which you are punished only if you create a traffic jam. Another relief is the fine for speeding. There is no penalty at all for exceeding less than 20 km/h.

Hahaha, I saw that too, him running the blinking red lights! I assume they were about to turn white, because the barrier was pointing up. It's still very risky to run them even so, because actually another train may be coming the other way and the barriers would soon close again. Maybe not likely there. Not the case for single railway crossings.

I am from South Africa and that said this is the country where traffic rules seems to be a indicator only 😮. Riding on the shoulder of the road on a bike is normal passing over a solid line well that’s the way it gets done. Potholes are everywhere similar to Bulgaria. The one thing that’s so much different is we have some of the best twisties any place in the world. And if you ever make the decision to visit this beautiful country you will have the best time of your entire life. The bike community is the best. The food is amazing and the weather is perfect for riding.
