I started riding a few yrs ago at age 62. For many of us who didn't ride as teens, the responsibility of raising a family meant that we decided to delay riding until the kids grew up, and we now want to have a bit of fun. Good for your Mom ... love her bike!

If I was riding with my mom, I would tell her that if she’s leading she should be on the inside of center line and follower rides on the right side. It’s a safety thing, yes? People would see you in their mirror before her and she could get hit first. Stagger riding. I would have been so frightened for her. But no offense really, you’ve definitely had more experience than I have, but your stagger riding looks opposite from what I’ve learned. It looks so AWESOME to have a lunch date/motorcycle ride with mom!!!

Lol, same! They changed the rule at my DMV for motorcycle permit renewals...I had to try for my license. If I failed, then I get to renew the permit that I had for over 20 years. Needless, to say after a few practice days in the course, I successfully passed. Yes, I learned the correct way to handle my gal.

Hi Jesse and Momma Two Wheels. I enjoyed hearing your story. I am a 56 year old woman and literally just got my license and a Harley Heritage. I have been practicing in a parking lot and doing quite well and then one day I got into my own head after hearing a story of a terrible motorcycle accident and couldn’t even get myself to ride that day. I’m gonna take a few days off to regroup and try again. You let me know that I am not alone and give me the courage to try again. I can’t believe all of the support from the “biker community ”. There are so many incredible, kind and encouraging people. I have confidence that I will overcome this set back. I’ll keep you posted. Thank you both! ❤️😊🏍

Don’t let the horror stories scare you off of riding. Accidents can happen no matter what you’re doing. You have to stay aware of your surroundings and use your head when your riding. If you get into riding, you’ll never regret taking the chance. Good luck. 👍🏻

Even after 150,000 miles and 40 years on a motorcycle stuff gets in my female head if I let it. It is a huge risk every time I ride anywhere. Just be sure, don't hesitate. Whether you're gassing it or braking it. You're the only person in control of you. You're in CONTROL, not your FEAR.

I rode for several years and then got out of it for a few years. When I got back into riding I needed a motorcycle endorsement so I took the MSF class. I always recommend it to anyone looking to get into riding. Even with years of experience I learned things in the class that have already saved me from a lot of pain or death. The money paid for the class is well worth it.

I went through almost the exact same thing with my mom. The only difference is that by the time she really decided she wanted to do it, she had developed a condition which prevents her from driving a car, let alone riding a motorcycle. Enjoy your rides together and do it as often as you can. And as always, be safe.

I just started riding on the street this year at 45. I can relate to pretty much everything your mom said about wishing I had learned years ago. I've finally gotten comfortable on my Honda Rebel 250 but on the rare occasion that my hubby gets my sportster out for me, it's so scary! I hope in time I can become comfortable on it, too. Our schedules are so different that the opportunities to get on it have been few and far between. Our crazy weather hasn't helped either. I ride my Honda every chance I get. I really enjoy taking it to the parking lots and practicing. I bought the ride like a pro videos and he's helped me alot. Please keep these videos coming with your mom. They are some of my favorite ones.

You know, there seems to be a lot of pressure from other motorcyclists to get on bigger and bigger bikes. 250’s and 400’s are grown up bikes. Maybe not great on interstates but fine for pretty much anything else. If you are comfortable on the Rebel, you should ride the Rebel and don’t make any apologies. It’s supposed to be enjoyable.

Hey Jess.. love yr work. Great to see your mom getting on two wheels as well. Will add another lovely dimension you your relationship hey. I'm 58 and been riding for 30 yrs now.. love it.. can't ever imagine not owning a motorcycle.. My father started riding in the early 40's in Europe. Back then it was a much more affordable option than a automobile. Hearing stories from him and mom about their adventures throughout Europe when they were young totally inspired me to want to ride. Though here in Australia as I was growing up my parents were reluctant to give their blessing for me to ride, least while I was living at home... I was 28 when I got my first bike. Was married and living in the country and I needed something for commuting to work as wife had the car. Once I'd acquired that first bike (it was 250 Aventure Bike) within a few weeks of riding to work and having fun off road as well, I was totally hooked. Can't imagine not riding now. Now my wife has started riding on back with me (3yrs now) and she loves it also. We're members of a fantastic club and enjoy the comraderie that goes with that. We're only a few weeks away from doing our first motorcycle camping tour (7 days around Victoria, Australia) together so that should be lots of fun. Hopefully this tour might highlight why touring together on two bikes would be easier, and with much encouragement from our closest friends and me already, wife may gather the courage to get her licence and her own bike. Wait and see. Otherwise I'll continue to enjoy her company on the back with me. Thanks for sharing with us. Keep up the great work. You seem to be a great advocate for responsible and safe motorcycling and of course, girls on two wheels. Cheers for now. Scoota.

They love the stories I have and seeing the pictures and videos I take from my trips. I love motorcycling. It's one of the few things that no matter where you are if you bump into a fellow rider you instantly have something in common.

I got my first bike after I got out of the service in the late 70's. They didn't have motorcycle safety classes back then. I sold the bike in 1982 to get money for a down payment on a house. Then I was in a trucking accident lost one leg and busted up everything else. I was laid up for a year and gave up my bike license. Didn't figure I'd ever ride again. In my mid 50's I bought a fatboy and started riding again. I took the class here in PA. I rode the fatboy for several years then sold it and bought an electraglide classic. Love riding with friends but more by myself exploring new roads. By the way, Mama Two Wheels is hot. Hey, I'm 66 I'm not dead. Just saying. Hope to see more of her in future videos.

Dad bought a bike early. Stopped riding it early. Probably rode for a year total. He's legally blind now so that door is closed. He raised my sister and I (in the short span he was the everyday dad) like farm kids. Ride a truck, tractor, lawnmower, bicycle, 3 wheeler, horse, combine, trailer, train, motorcycle, ANYTHING but a tart or deuscubag. So when I thought of riding, it was a small step mentally. The shift was translating riding into a larger world. Saddle up, pick a point of the compass, and return by Monday. I miss those days. The bike became a financial drain when my daughter was little and the wife wanted horses. Now the girl is grown and the wife is gone. I'm dreaming of a Super Tenere 1200, but haven't worked up the nerve for the payments. Rode an Aprilia Compenord 1200, and it's about the right size for me. But the Aprilia is much like my ex-wife April: power hungry and hard on the balls. I think something else would be better suited to me. My daughter desperately wants to ride. She gets upside down in her finances every three months, so she's holding off. She's destroyed four cars in as many years, so her driving skills (let alone her riding) needs to improve. At 5'1" finding a bike she can ride is something of a challenge. They can be found, just not as often as a 5'5" girl can. In the beginning she wanted to ride horses. I told her, "Oh no! Horse people are vicious! Got an ex-wife and ex-girlfriend to prove it. YOU will be a biker, my dear! DAD HAS SPOKEN!"

“We have nothing to fear, but fear itself” and car drivers, words for motorcyclists to live by. Credit to1933 quote from Franklin D. Roosevelt. Respect the hostile motorcycling environment , know and ride within your limits and you may just “live long and prosper” Spock from Star Trek. On two wheels near daily last 15 years, now 69, have enjoyed every minute of it except the pain of a self caused single vehicle(mc) incident at the 4 year point. Learned a lot from that, and it’s no doubt saved me numerous times. Can’t be cocky nor complacent on two wheels. riding does add to life and may tend to keep us young. Be safe out there. . .

It's incredible how much of your local riding areas look similar to parts of Georgia and South Carolina. Beautiful to see the bond in the Mother and Daughter Riding.

Your a lucky girl. Mama is awesome. I didn't get my endorsement until I was 60, and on top of my bucket list is riding with my son and my daughter who both ride. They live in other states so it's a challenge. It's going to happen one day.

What a beautiful and sweet mother you have ..! And can recognize that I was thinking and dreaming of getting my motorcycle license for decades, but only got it when I was in my 40s ..! Today I wish I had ridden a motorcycle in my young days in the 80s ..!

Congratulations on the family time we were lucky enough to share with you. New rider advice? Practice, practice, practice. Learn and master the essential riding techniques of slow speed maneouvering to include the slow race; 180 u-turns; 90 degree turns from a stop. Head and eyes, friction zone and some rear break.

Awesome story. I had three lady riders in my MSF. One older lady that wanted to ride with her friends, another lady my age that wanted her own bike and a young Air Force veteran that wanted to learn to ride. It is really cool to see everyone’s different riding stories.

Great video. Glad she did it. I learned when I was 23 and there was almost no ladies riding bikes. But I just went for it. I’m 54 and I’ve never looked back. I didn’t take the motorcycle course back then, it was way too expensive and only had enough money for a bike and the basic gear and so I just pursued my dream. Today, motorcycles have been in my life more then I ever dreamed! I have worked at a motorcycle shop as a parts person and sales for over 13 years, I have had 29 bikes in my time and I have gotten the privilege of being able test ride bikes where I work and so have been able to ride probably 300 or so different bikes in my years. I’m so happy to see so many ladies riding and I’ve been so happy to share my experience and help many ladies get into riding. My Mom is 84 , so she’s past learning , but what a great thing you have in common with your Mom!

Awesome video. Go Mom! I started riding last year at 57. Did not grow up around bikes but wanted to learn how to ride. I’ve been riding for a little over a year. After 17,000 miles I still love it. It took a while to get comfortable riding. I love going out and taking in the scenery . Best thing I’ve done for me in a long time. Thanks so much for continuing to share your riding and life with the rest of us!

Love this video. I’ve ridden Yamaha and Honda off and on for 25 years, dirt bike and street bike. I just bought my first Harley Road King, absolutely love it. I’m so glad to be back out riding. My wife has completely jumped in and we ride 2 up, got the gear, etc…. What a great time.

Woohoo! I'm so jealous that you are a Momma-Daughter duo! I learned to ride @ age 46 , now 52. My daughter is 22 and I would love for her to learn to ride but I don't think that will happen since she was involved in a traumatic Razor accident last year. SO happy for you gals though!! Ride on wind sisters!!
