Heartbreaker at the end but plenty of miles traveled and lessons learned. You will make it happen again in 24 since you are moose 🫎 and Sitka black tail deer 🦌 hunting this fall instead. I am glad that you found Chris’s bull and gave him closure. Thanks 🙏 for sharing this with us and being super transparent with how everything went down.
I really enjoyed the content. That was a beautiful bull. Also I think it’s great that you put the episode out and acknowledge everything that happened and things you could have done different. This kind of stuff happens to every bow hunter , few are brave enough to admit it. Keep up the great work.
Transparency is everything... last year bowhunting I skimmed a mature bucks belly line. I've drown in those thoughts today. I've spent a full year working on getting better than yesterday, everyday.... that's 2 bucks in 24yrs I've not harvested bc of a me moment.. both with a bow since 14yrs old. I push myself daily working out/ shooting/ scouting to be my best. It's our growth as hunters. It's our journey... own yours!!!!!! Great content man keep it up.. Side note.... 10k followers.....??? That's it.. let's get you at 100k. How do we get there. This is legit and genuine. Let's do it.!!!!!
Thanks for sharing, Shane! None of us are perfect. I’ve made a fair share of mistakes in my life hunting that I wish I could get back but like you said, using it as fire to become better is the name of the game. I appreciate you sharing and the kind words!
great video and a tuff hunt sorry you never got your bull, msybe 2024 you will find him. great content and also showing the things that can happen to any hunter , we all learn from our mistakes , good luck in 2024. your finding your friends bull was your real reward you gave him closure and easing his worry over his bull , great job,
You did good man keep it up I know how those nerves are when you have a bull screaming at 28 yards it’s difficult to even stay steady. We had the same thing happen last year my brother shot at a really nice 6 point hit him high we could not find him. We found half the arrow. We had a rally good blood trail at first then it tapered of to nothing.
That’s rough having to guess and hold below the heart on what should be an 18 yard chip shot. Great series looking forward to watching some whitetail hunts in the future
The amount of time these guys spent with cell phones out and struggling to make decisions was painful. Not to mention, two wounded bulls with one expiring. Yes, archery elk hunting public land is incredibly difficult, but this was hard to watch.
You never have made a bad shot on an animal? He is showing the reality of some hunting scenarios. He could have easily not included this hunt but was transparent.
I’m sorry you felt this way. We will get better in the future, but want to share it as it happened instead of hiding it like everything went good. Good luck this season!
At least sir they did not impulse they are thinking and talking through every scenario. And trying to make the best decision based on the given circumstances. If you want to be a negative Nancy stay off here. So your going to tell me with a straight face everything you’ve ever shot at you killed you have never had a miss or a wounded animal?? You must be one of the 1 percent, a super hunter.
Center of the front shoulder muscle is a better lung and chance of a heart hit than that stupid crease. I've lost elk shooting them right through the crease That's so far in between the liver and lungs. We've been educated wrong for many years.
Loosin elk is never a good thing. Heat of the moment can cost ya. Learn from ur hunt and b better. Hope that big bull made it. Sounds of big bulls or any bull r what trips me.
